Surely you saw that I was making fun of Freud and Freudianism. Rather, I was using a joke-version of Freud in order to make fun of Hack. How transparent do I need to be for you? You've displayed your cultural deftness around here, so I'm surprised at how tautological and teacherly you're being.
But, whatever, I wasn't repping Freud. But thanks for assuming I was the kind of guy who needed a post outlining the enthusiasm for positivism in psychology. I get it. Freud was problematic, for sure, but the feverish demand for universally recognizable patterns, which forms the very basis for more "scientific" schools of psychology, is also sickening. Nothing that lives submits itself well to either habit of thinking.
You've been trying to engage me for a few days now. I think you can be more interesting than this.
