Oden for Millsap?

The Jazz would have to do this if it were on the table. Oden's still young and just 2 years ago he was the next Tim Duncan. Sap's hit his peak.

This would be a great gamble by the Jazz. Oden might never live up to the hype he had entering Ohio State, but when he's been healthy, both weeks, he has been exactly what Jazz fans have wanted: a defensive presence in the middle who can rebound and score a little. He's unpolished on offense, but a possible gamechanger on defense. Plus, as honz said, judging by the pictures, he's probably gay.

Theys a reason that Oden looks like he's 45 years old already. Aint sure what that reason is, exactly, but unless I knowed, I sho nuff wouldn't go round tradin off no Paperboy for his wore-out ***.

Hell no. Here's why:

Oden's 3 seasons: 0, 61, 21 games. Career 9.4 ppg + 7.3 rpg + 1.4 bpg.

Millsap's 4 seasons: 82, 82, 76, 82 games. Career 9.9 ppg + 6.8 rpg + 0.99 bpg.

Then let's run this trade through ESPN's Trade Machine:

Portland: with this trade you have increased this team's projected wins by 4.

Utah: with this trade you have decreased this team's projected wins by 7.

Hell. No.

Hell no, unless I was convinced that Oden was going to be a Bill Walton sort of player who will have one miraculous year where he isn't hurt and be that dominant. I just don't see that.

I disagree that Paul Millsap has hit his "peak". He is only 25 years old and he has never been a full-time starter in his career. He will get the opportunity to be the full-time starter this year at PF. I think that he could develop into a possible 20-10 type player. He and Jefferson are going to be the starting PF/C combination. Also, while Boozer struggled in the playoffs against the Lakers, Millsap did not. He didn't seem to be bothered by the length of Gasol and Bynum very much.

I honestly don't know if I'd do this trade or not. If Oden can stay healthy he becomes the 2nd best center in this league and that = championships. For a player to put up a 23 PER in his second year is a potential superstar.

Man, just thinking of the Boozer/Millsap matchup we get to see later this year is giving me a slow roaster.

Bro, if you add Oden's three years together, you get 82 games. Sounds pretty healthy to me.
