Offer to Cavs for #1 is to draft Wiggins not Parker

If this is at all real and we need to throw in something like the GS 17' pick to put it over the top we really need to do it.

£¥£

I am ok with giving them another first round pick. I either give them 2016 since we need a break from all these rookies and I am expecting the Jazz to be fighting for the 8th seed. If they ask for a 2017 pick give them either GS pick or the Jazz pick whichever is lower.

So someone tell me again why Cavs even do this trade?
Why not just take Wiggins and proceed from there.
Wiggins is still a franchise player and will sell tickets.
Why are Cavs now desperate to trade the #1 pick?
Let someone else take a big gamble for Embiid.

Cavs are in WIN now mode. They also believe they can get Lebron to return.
They don't have any decent centers: Varejao is injured 50% of the time. Hawes is an UFA, was underwhelming after they traded for him and has never been known for defense. With Irving, LBJ, Waiters and Thompson they'd have plenty of scoring. They let Deng leave as a FA and just replace him with Lebron. They also get a good rotation player at #5 like Randle, who would probably start over Thompson. I don't think they'd gamble on Embiid at #5.

This is a PERFECT scenario for Cleveland. Milwaukee has Sanders to offer, but he's a headcase. Philly has no one. Orlando has Vucevic, but why would they offer him in a trade? Boston and LA don't have centers to offer. Utah is clearly their best option for a trade.

IF Lebron signs with Cleveland, that's a contender in the EC:
LBJ
Irving
Waiters
Randle/Thompson
Favors

I think Cleveland does this WITHOUT having to sweeten the pot. They HAVE to make a play for Lebron.

I agree. As much as I enjoy the thought of drafting a player who I could hope will be a franchise player, I still don't think any team would ever do this.

This deal better happen now or the front office better start doing some *** kissing in regards to Favors. I get that this is a business, but players tend to take things like this personally. It's going to be really awkward telling Favors this was all just a rumor and then having someone come out and say it didn't happen because the Cavs rejected the offer.

That is why I am surprised it leaked out. I also remember Favors talking about how he felt betrayed by the Nets when he got traded.

Trade Favors and #5 for Wiggins
Take Asik and Lin off of Houston for cap relief (trade #23 or #35 and JIII)
Draft Wilcox and Bring Tomic over.
Decide to sign Hayward (don't if it's too much...)

Burke-Lin
Burks-Wilcox
Wiggins-Williams
Kanter-Gobert
Asik-Tomic

I don't know if Tomic and Gobert can play together. I don't think Gobert can play PF either. However, overall I like that team.

As nice as Burks came along last year I feel he would become expendable if we landed someone like Wiggins. Hayward really struggled simply because we looked to him to be that #1 guy, if Wiggins could develop into that down the road I'd rather have Hayward as a role player with Wiggins instead of Burks. All of this contingent of course on a reasonable deal for Hayward.

It only becomes an issue if the front office isn't upfront about it. If they tell him one thing and something else entirely comes out. Say they do offer that to Cleveland and the Cavs reject the offer. Now say that they tell Favors that they never made such an offer and it's later revealed or leaked to the media that they did. I guess what I am trying to say about it is that they shouldn't say anything in regards to the rumor. That way they avoid any issues. I think DL is intelligent enough to take that route.

One has to remember that Favors was 19 and just got drafted into the NBA, besides I don't think the Nets were upfront with him about it. Jazz just need to be up front about it. If the deal doesn't go through, then the Jazz need to remind him that Jabbar, Chamberlain, and Shaq all got traded beside the fact that other teams wanted him. It is a business and Derrick needs to know that things that were said in the past might change especially since their is new leadership.

Or maybe we shouldn't kiss Favors ***? Maybe it might actually push him to play with some heart and passion this next year?

13 and 9 for a guy as big as he is isn't that great. Who the hell does he think he is?

Become a 20 and 10 guy next year then you can bitch when the jazz look to trade you.

The key is to just get Wiggins. Get him, bank on his development, and eventually he will be the max guy that can lead the team to titles. No one else matters much at this point if the Jazz are convinced he's gonna be the man.

Also, if the Jazz pull this off, it increases the odds of having a good pick next year imo.

If I were Cleveland, I wouldn't do it. I am a huge fan of Wiggins.
im feelin you on this bro.

(i hope it feels good having me feelin you, i sure feels good on my end.
