Am curious.. looking up the same for runner ups during that same 20 year period. (don't know what the outcome will be)

SEC - 3 RU's
ACC - 3 RU's
Big East - 1 RU
Pac10 - 2 RU's
Big10 - 5 RU's
Big12 - 2 RU's
Rest - 4 RU's

So, the SEC has made it to the finals 9 of the last 20 years.

SEC's saving grace are the recently, often elite Kentucky and Florida. The depth of the conference is turrible.
