What's new

***Official new head coach search thread*** (merged)

I would LOVE to have Hollins as an assistant coach. I'm not sold on him but I am sold on the results he achieved by transforming the Grizzlies defense. The guy knows defense. I think he's a decent coach overall but I think as a whole there's a better coach out there.

I would be happy if he's the guy.

Wow. That video has me completely in support of hiring this guy. Messina seems like a student not only of the game but life. His outlook is refreshing but reserved all at the same time. I would really, really be into giving this guy an opportunity.

Messina, hes fing Italian, and a Legend, and he dont look as old as Jerry.
His presence alone will demand respect and im very damn certain this gyy will make Tyrone Corbin look like a taco vendor.

He already does without having coached a single NBA game.

I like this Messina guy. First it would be cool to have the first European head coach in the NBA. Secondly, if Pop really thinks highly of him then I am in. He has won major European titles. My only concern is if he can relate to young american players.

I like Longabardi too. I am concerned that he has never been a head coach at the NBA level and does he know anything about the offense side of the game. I would be very happy with these two guys.

Wouldn't that be D'Antoni? Since he started his coaching career overseas and all.

Every video or written interview I've seen on Messina has been wildly impressive. Like, exactly what I'd want to hear from a coach. He seems very confident but not arrogant and seems like the game consumes him.

I want him. I'd take Longa as a conciliation.
