What's new

***Official new head coach search thread*** (merged)

Jeff Van Gundy said this when Lindsey was hired and they both have history togeher:

"He's found the absolute fit with the Jazz," said Jeff Van Gundy, who coached the Rockets to 182 victories and three playoff appearances from 2003-07. "The Jazz are such a rock-solid organization. And Dennis combines old-school, traditional scouting methods with cutting-edge analytical methods. Because he can cross into both worlds, it allows him to be very, very unique."

Nice quote.

Yep, unless a coach realistically thinks they have a chance at the Lakers gig, they would be foolish not to jump at the first phone call from Utah. If you take the Laker's job, you had better be darn sure that they are going to lure a coveted free agent, because just growing old with Kobe would be the third layer of Hell.

Not to mention having to work for Jim Buss.

Knicks is also a coveted job most would take before the Jazz.
Utah's next HC would be pretty sure he has no chance at Lakers or Knicks.
Knicks might throw outrageous contract at Billy Donovan.
One he could not refuse. He is from NY.

Longabardi,Hollins or Thibs (if Bulls are bungled out in first round and they want a change) my picks with Jensen and Jones main assistants.
Time for some solid experience to help lead this team in the right direction.

Spence Checketts just tweeted that Jim Boylen was the "clear" front runner. I know Spence a little bit from interning at Real Salt Lake in 2005. He is pretty tapped into some good sources, so I tend to believe him.

This scares the Sh** out of me. I am really not a fan.
