Official NJ Nets Watch

They're going to be terrible.

haha Did you see there starting line up?

It appears Deron will start alongside Sasha Vujacic, Damion James, Kris Humphries and Brook Lopez in Nets debut. That's tough.

ha ha. Here comes the Number 1 Pick aka Irving!!!!

Time to root against the Nets(more than usual) ala the NYK Watch Thread last year.

Hey maybe the Jazz can turn DWill into Gordan Hayward II

His name is Terrence Jones, 6'8" SF for Kentucky. Used to be a PG in HS before growing six inches. Personally, I'd be very happy if the Jazz end up with him. There don't seem to be a lot of good SG's at the top of the draft, but SF looks like a deep positon - and that is something we need.

I say try to re-sgn AK for 2-3 years until Hayward and the new guy develop. Then perhaps you trade some combination of our later lottery pick (provided the Jazz miss the playoffs) and/or the GS pick and/or Miles or Bell for a starting SG. I know I'll get some hate from CJ-lovers, but he just ain't the answer - 40% FG's doesn't cut it. We need quality, not quantity. Then again, if you have a strong offensive rebounder like Favors, a CJ airball might be as good as an entry pass from a PG.

Nets lose to Spurs! 24 more to go. Deron with a poor shooting night. I'll root for him after this season though.

Just saw that the Knicks lost to the Cavs. bwhahahaha. Good night for NYC area basketball. Man, I hope the Nets keep losing for the Jazz' sake and the Knicks keep losing for sanity's sake.

SAN ANTONIO (AP)—All-Star Deron Williams(notes) had 14 points and 12 assists in his debut with the New Jersey Nets, but Manu Ginobili(notes) scored 26 to lead the San Antonio Spurs to a 106-96 victory Friday night.

Williams, dealt by the Utah Jazz on Wednesday in an unexpected blockbuster deal before the trade deadline, was 5 for 13 and played 41 minutes. He also helped the lowly Nets keep it interesting against the NBA’s best team.

Loss for D Will but he had an ok game. 5 for 13 is not great, but about where he had been the past month or so with us.

Nets hung tough, though. This is going to be like last year when the Knicks became a .500 team down the stretch and we went from hoping for a top-5 pick to sliding all the way down to #9. I think NJ is too far behind to have a chance at the playoffs. However, I see them catching at least Detroit - that team has quit. Maybe they also finish ahead of Milwaukee, but with the Baron for Mo deal, I think the Clippers actually got better. My guess is that NJ finishes at #7 and no better than #8.

Yeah my dad said Deron came out of the game tonight and then went back in after a while. The wrist thing is probably a career long issue. How many years have we seen it pop up now?
