This. As i have been saying.... until the jazz find a star player they should always be trying to get one.I would trade Hayward for Simmons so damn fast. I'd strongly consider a deal for Ingram too.

Ya all those playoffs wins that hayward has brought to the jazz would go away. Darn it.Hayward for Ingram or Simmons is laughable, sets this team back years
Really though exum, hood, burks, favors, gobert, lyles, mack, simmons still looks pretty damn good plus we have lots o money to go after a batum/bazemore type. We would be fine replacing hayward with simmons. Like i said, its not like hayward has brought us lots of playoff wins. Hayward is not a star. simmons might be though.
No. Simmons, hood, burks, favors, lyles, exum, gobert, bazemore/batum/barnes/etc etc is still a team capable of making the playoffs and at least being as good as any team that hayward has been on.Agree...you almost have to commit to rebuilding unless there is another move that happens first(Favors, Hood and Next years 1st for Jimmy Butler)

This. Always try for the superstar. swing for the fences. The team as its currently constructed could lose pretty much any player and not take too big of a hit. None of our current players are irreplaceable superstars. Lose hayward and pick up ingram/simmons and grab a good free agent and we are just as good as we have been at any point in the last 5 years.Obviously it sets them back. That's not the point. In the long run, would you rather have Cory maggette or kevin durant?
That might be the difference.
perhaps .. but best case even if you end up with a Durant ... has he won it all ??
Durant has won a lot more than hayward. (or anyone else on our team)
Getting to the finals and being a championship contender year after year > missing the playoffs imho.
