Official Player Workouts for the Utah Jazz

Vonleh was able to guard guards on the perimeter when he was switched on to them though.

He has a huge wingspan, so that probably helps in that regard. First step is different than being able to shuffle your feet also. Shane Battier can shuffle his feet, he doesn't have a first step.

I'll be happy with either Vonleh or Randle... Vonleh's a better fit long term with his shooting, but Randle's #Hunger will make an immediate impact.

My main concern is with his screw in his foot. I like Randle better than Vonleh but I still would rather have Gordon.

I'm not expecting Vonleh to be anything more than a somewhat tougher version or Rashard Lewis, Donyell Marshall or Vin Baker. If he's more than that, then great, but I'm not expecting it.

I like Vonleh as much as the next guy, but I have concerns about his quickness limiting his upside. It could be related to his playing center, but I'd like to see him get a step on his defender and dunk the ball.

Vonleh can handle better than the guys I just mentioned, but I'm not sure exactly what that will translate to. He can iso and cross-over out on the floor, but if he doesn't get all the way to the rim, what's the point? I guess the same goes for Randle though.

I've heard c bosh is his highest ceiling.

Yes.

The same bosh who got killed by 100 year old Duncan and fat Diaw.

Anyone wonder how bosh would have done against a 07 version of duncan/Diaw?

I'll pass. There's gotta be something better at 5.

I'd rather take a chance on Aaron Gordon's upside and athleticism. His shooting is a concern, but I do expect it to improve with work and coaching. How much better remains to be seen, but I have a lot of faith in him. I think that he's a great fit for the Jazz and will become the top player on the team and face of the franchise in short order. Every top prospect has major question marks, but I'd rather gamble on Gordon's shooting over Exum's ability to translate vs. elite competition or Vonleh's lack of production.

Gordon is talented, driven and coach-able. I really like him and hope he's the pick (barring a trade up for either Wiggins or Parker who are still my top two options.)

Due to lack of options, Miami had to make Bosh their center. Vonleh would be playing PF almost exclusively. Favors or Gobert would be guarding the Duncans, Howards, Gasols, etc

An 07' Bosh was a beast, averaged 23/10.

This.

I would rep Ellis269 again but I can't. I am a Gordon guy and I don't think he will get pass the Boston or the Lakers so the Jazz will have to take him at 5 if they want him.
