Or McDermott. He's going to go higher than many think because he has an elite skill. He'll be a great 6th man.

Most years I would do it but this year the draft just looks to deep. At 35 you can grab someone like GR3, Tavares, or Ingles.
I like McDermott, just worry that our team isn't going to be good enough defensively for him to be on the floor, especially with Kanter/Favors. I think he would be amazing on a team like Thibodeau's previous Bulls teams. His offense is undeniable and if you leave him open, he will burn you and he has the ability to score from anywhere the court when teams over-rotate out to him or cheat on screens.

Huestis shot 28% from the field in the 3 games at the Portsmouth 2 weeks ago, including 0/5 from 3. If you can post some links or quotes from these reports on his shooting or workouts potentially being shut down id love to read them. There's certainly varied opinions on his midrange and 3point game
If they do, they will be foreign players who are stashed. No way opening day roster has 3 rookies though.

Remember when the jazz were going to trade Al Jefferson to the Spurs? Or how Jim Boylen is the Jazz top target?
He is just spreading the word in hopes of creating a market. If they were serious about trading the picks they probably wouldn't tell Uncle Randy.
And why not bring in three more rookies? Favors and Hayward are year 5, and the only thing holding Hayward back was Deron Williams, oh, well I meant the lockout. Oh, well I meant all the vets. Oh well, I meant Ty Corbin. Now that hurdle is crossed he should be the next Larry bird, er, Paul George, er uh,Jeff Hornaceck. sorry I meant Mike Dunleavy. Yes now that the small hurdle of eliminating all of the competition and two coaches Hayward is finally ready to get paid a max contract to perform like Mike Dunleavy. So three more rookies won't matter at all.
Heaven help the jazz.

Actually, it would be FOUR rookies if you count Neto. He wanted to come over last season so I think it's almost a given he'll insist on making the leap after summer league.
Roster-wise, I guess they could: assume Jazz cut Lucas, Thomas and Clark, keep Hayward, re-sign Marvin and bring Neto over. Also assume Garrett or another FA is signed as the 3rd PG. Draft three rookies and they're at 13 players, but still around $50M. Jazz will want to get to the salary floor, so they'll perhaps need to sign 2 mid-tier FA's to get there. But if Murphy or someone else impressed, it might result in the 3rd draft pick getting cut. Better to go with a "draft and stash," IMO. Take a flier on a young prospect who isn't quite ready but has a ton of potential.
I'm with Cy. I just don't see FOUR rookies making the roster. In addition to the roster limitations, 2014/15 is the LAST year the Jazz will have up to a MAX slot available under the cap, even counting a substantial raise for Hayward. After that, if Burks and Kanter return, their new contracts will eat our cap space.
GVC is the expert on this, but if the Jazz end up paying Hayward around $10M and renounce the rights to all their FA's, total salaries would be at $37M for 7 players. I estimate cap holds for the 3 picks would be around $5M, depending on where the first pick falls, and then add in a nominal amount to bring the roster up to the minimum (or Jazz simply retain rights for a couple of their non-guaranteed players unless/until they need the roster or cap space for a FA or in a trade). I'm not saying the Jazz will find a max player. But maybe they can find a couple of "Millsaps" at bargain rates, or deal with a team wanting to offload a young player who is past his rookie deal and doesn't fit within the cap space of that team anymore. If Lindsey wants to swing a trade or sign some good FA's, this is the year he has the cap space.

Wasn't necessarily saying McDermott for Utah, just that he may go higher than 16. Some team is going to fall in love with his shooting skills. If Jimmer freakin' Fredette as CPOY went high (granted, in a weaker draft), then McDermott could go very high as well. Neither were/are viewed as even adequate defenders.
