What's new

OFFICIAL Postseason race thread *Sticky*

I'd love to trade Burke and some picks (OKC 1st, 2nds) to get someone like Mario Chalmers and another bench guy for added depth which we definitely lack right now. If we got that, I'd LOVE to play the Dubs in the first round. I'd love to see just how good our defense is vs. the best offense in the league. Obviously if we got swept, it could psychologically damage us going forward but if we went in with the right "us against the world mentality," I think we could take a game or two and walk away proud and even hungrier going into the summer.

I am watching Orlando vs. New Orleans. The Pelicans are awful and don't play any defense. Davis looks like he's sleep walking. I doubt they're THIS bad and I bet they get better when Evans comes back. But I think the Jazz are better through and through. I am not as scared of them battling for the 7 or 8 as I was a couple weeks ago.

With all the injuries they've had, I was never scared of them. Davis himself said that they won't have their full roster until January.

Simmons so dumb lol

"Everyone is so hyped up on Utah and I don't get it. I just don't get it."

Umm, maybe it has something to do with the most terrifying defense in the league?

In that same podcast, Simmons goes on to hype the hell out of the Celtics for being a young team with a great coach that made a 2nd half surge last season.

And he doesn't get why people are hyped on Utah. lol.

Updated again.

More good games for Utah tonight!

Blazers @ Jazz
Spurs @ Wizards
Magic @ Rockets
Raptors @ Thunder
Kings @ Suns
Clips @ Warriors

I bolded the teams I want to win. If the Jazz win and the Thunder lose the Jazz will be leading the Northwest division and have a top 4 seed based on record. They will also have a top 4 record if the Jazz win and Spurs lose.

Should I start including the eastern standings?

Who is even their best young player? Smart? We easily have five young guys better than him. Their core is pretty unimpressive.

Personally, I think the Celts roster is absolute garbage. Some good defenders but that's about it...

I don't think you need to include the East Standings.

Tonight is a game the Jazz MUST win. I know some fans will think I am crazy for saying a game this early is a must-win but it's a home opener, and the Blazers are one of the bottom feeders in the West. These are games the Jazz can't drop if they are a legit playoff team. It's not quite the same feeling as 06-07 when it was obvious so early that the Jazz had a legit chance to do something special that season, but I do think the Jazz are something about them that is special.

Batum used to give Hayward problems. Hayward needs a breakout game tonight but Aminu has actually looked very good early on.

Kings are without Cousins again so hopefully they lose.

Considering how brutal November looks, I agree. Jazz need to win tonight and tomorrow. If the Jazz end November with a winning record than that is huge for the playoffs.

Jazz missed a good opportunity last night by loosing.

The Thunder, Spurs, Clippers and Kings all lost while the Rockets, Suns, Warriors and Blazers (grrr...) won.

Jazz could have had a top 4 seed. But they lost and dropped to 11th...updated OP.

But that's OK! Jazz play tonight. Games of interest!

Thunder @ Bulls
Heat @ Wolves
Hornets @ Mavs
Jazz @ Nuggets
Grizzlies @ Blazers (toss up I guess)

Bolded teams I want to win.
