OFFICIAL Postseason race thread *Sticky*

uhh, if you get easy opponents in the first 2 rounds and get to go 4-0/4-1, that is a big advantage to a team having to go 6/7 game series every round.
Sure it is. Except you haven't really been battle tested.

Last night's recap:

Nuggets lost to the Blazers and Suns lost to the Lakers.

I think it is safe to say that along with the Pelicans and Lakers the Suns and Nuggets are no longer a problem for the Jazz. Kings and Blazers are dark horses.

Tonight's games:

Wolves @ Sixers
Spurs @ Bucks
Kings @ Thunder
Rockets @ Jazz
Grizzlies @ Blazers (win win but I want a Blazers win)
Hornets @ Warriors

Tonight could be another good night for Utah. If they win and the Grizzlies lose the jazz will only be a 1/2 game out of 6th. A Jazz win would also place them 2 1/2 out of 5th.

So a Jazz win along with a Kings, Wolves and Grizzlies loss is the prefered outcome tonight. Spurs and Warriors are whatever.

Well this week I learned that the Jazz are clearly better than the Grizzlies and Rockets. Utah is 6th seed materiel at least. Imagine if we were healthy but alas. One comes back and one goes down.

Updated the OP

Jazz picked up a big win last night over a quality oponent. The Kings also lost which gave the jazz more breathing room in the 8th spot.

Tonight's games:

Pelicans @ Clippers
Mavs @ Wolves
Celtics @ Grizzlies
Pacers @ Rockets
Hornets @ Nuggets
Thunder @ Blazers
Jazz @ Lakers

Another potentially big night for the Jazz. If the Jazz win and the Rockets, Grizzlies, Mavs and Clippers all lose the Jazz will make up some good ground. Updated OP

Pacers blew it tonight but the Jazz took care of business. From my seats, it looks like the Jazz are in great shape to be in the playoffs assuming they keep up this pace while the roster (sans Exum) gets healthy and back on the court. Lyles is going to be serviceable by the end of the season, and if the Jazz are full strength it should be interesting to see if he's still in the rotation.

A couple teams are starting to catch fire though with the Blazers beating OKC tonight now with 16 wins, SAC with 15 wins... it's about time Gobert & Favors are returning because we'll need them to put a distance between us and the chasing pack.

Yea lol. Aside from the Jazz win (the most important thing) the night really didn't go the Jazz's way. Oh well, that's bound to happen.

Warriors and Spurs play tonight but that's it. Lame night for the 5th seed express.

Last night only two teams in the west played. The Spurs and Warriors, they both won. SO whatever.

Tonight's games:

Jazz are not playing but there is a very much a win win game tonight!:

Suns @ Pacers
Spurs @ Pistons (lol)
Rockets @ Grizzlies (win win but I hate the Rockets and like Memphis)
Thunder @ Wolves
Cavs @ Mavs (another good matchup for Utah)
Pelicans @ Lakers (Lakers need to drop a couple spots in the lottery but I just can't bring myself to cheer for them)

A Dallas loss and a guaranteed loss for either Memphis or Houston. Could be a good night for Utah.

Choo!!! Choo!!!

Last night's recap:

Suns, Grizzlies, Wolves, Mavs and Pelicans lost.

Rockets, Spurs, Thunder and Lakers won.

Pretty good night for the Jazz. Mavs and Grizzlies losses were big. Every win and loss counts at this point. The room for error is shrinking.

Tonight's games:

Wolves @ Rockets
Mavs @ Thunder
Warriors @ Nuggets
Jazz @ Blazers
Pelicans @ Kings
Heat @ Clips

A potential very good night for the Jazz. Most the major players in relation to the Jazz are playing. Most of them against stiff competition on the back end of a back to back. Another Jazz win with some key losses narrows that gap to the 5th seed even more while building a bigger lead over te 9th seed.
