In Stifle's defence, he is probably one of the staunchest most passionate Jazz fan I've met on Jazzfanz (no punn intended). At times he may come off as a bit pessimistic but he is probably more critical than others because he love the Jazz so much, the same way a parent is strict with their children because they love them so much.

Well, no pun was made, so you're safe.

That's not a pun buddy. It's just using the same phrase twice. For it to be a pun, it would have to have a second meaning.
Doesn't one thing mean a group of people (jazz fans) and the other is a message board (jazzfanz)?

2 different meanings?

You can make that argument, but it's such a stretch. Jazzfanz means jazz fans. Had he made a reference to fans that move the air around, it would be a pun.

Thanks. Now I'm off to yell at and spank my child. Don't know what she's done wrong today, but I'll find something!

Edit: I'm just kidding about my child. In 10 years I've never used any form of physical discipline against her. Now, my wife, on the other hand..........

Edit: Just kidding about that too. Unless she wants it, and that falls under a completely different category with 50 shades to it.

A pun is a play on words, either on different senses of the same word or on the similar sense or sound of different words. Known in rhetoric as paronomasia.

Puns are figures of speech based on the inherent ambiguities of language. Although puns are commonly regarded as a childish form of humor, they are often found in advertisements and newspaper headlines. Poet Louis Untermeyer said that punning is like poetry: "something every person belittles and every person attempts."

So to defend One Love, saying I'm one of the most passionate Jazz fans he's met is definitely a pun, or play on words, of Jazzfanz, this site. And I should know, one of my former colleagues nicknamed me "master of the obvious joke" since I was always looking to make a good pun.

In English, please.
