OFFICIAL Postseason race thread *Sticky*

I can't believe the 6th seed is still a realistic possibility. This isn't the West I'm used to.

6th - 8th seed are legit possibilities. If Memphis continues to play to their current talent level I expect them to drop hard. 5th seed is an outside chance but not impossible.

Memphis Remaining Sche.:
@ Bucks
v. Clips
@ Suns
@ Lakers
@ Spurs
v Spurs
v Nuggets
v Raptors
@ Magic
v Bulls
@ Mavs (not sure who we will need to win tbh)
v. Warriors
@ Clips
@ Warriors

4-10 over the last 14. They already went 2-5 over the last 7 as well.

Tbh at suns and at Lakers might be losses too.

That lineup for memphis is worse than what the suns or Lakers well trot into the court.
Of course Lakers and suns might be tanking but still.... memphis might not win another game

If they don't then they will be the team to miss the playoffs.

Grizzlies lost to tanking Suns 2 times in a week. I think that was last week or the week before. Brandon knight was out.
Alex Len scored something like 33 against them in one of those games.

I doubt Jazz can pass Grizz. They already have 39 wins and I do not see Jazz with more than 42. I see Jazz Houston and Dallas all bunched together between 40 and 42 wins. Jazz MUST beat Houston and Dallas. My prediction is Memphis 42 wins, Jazz 42 wins, Dallas 41 wins and Houston 40 wins. If we lose at Houston we all tie at 41 and Jazz lose tie breaker :(

Not true. As long as we beat Dallas, we would still finish 2nd in a 3 way tie even if we lose at Houston and Houston loses at Dallas. H2h records among the three teams would be:

Houston: 5-3
Utah: 3-4
Dallas: 3-4

Houston would get in, and then the two team tiebreaker would be applied between Utah and Dallas. Utah would win that 2-1.

I think it's the dominance of the top two teams in the west, that all the other teams in the west have to play four times. If we weren't all paying attention to a possible record setting season by the Warriors we'd be in awe of just how good the Spurs have been this year. OKC isn't too shabby, either. The west is just really top heavy this year.

I bet that Popovich is one of the biggest fans of the Warriors this year. His team having a great year but flying way under the radar, letting the dubs take all the pressure of expectations.

The "tanking" Suns nearly beat Golden State on the road. They are playing very well lately.

Nah.

I watched that game. Golden State visibly half-assed it defensively and Curry was in foul trouble and didn't play much in the first three quarters. Then the Warriors turned it on in the 4th and outscored them 37-21 to finish the game.

In the past few days, the Suns have also lost to New York by 31 and Denver by 18

Milwaukee up 6 against Memphis with 6 minutes left. Portland down 12 in 3rd Q.
