Official Rising Stars Challenge Game Thread - 2/12/16 - 7 PM MST

This is worse than usual all-star game after a better than usual dunk contest.

They should make the home court advantage in the Finals based on this game for East or West. Then some players might play hard. Or maybe just need players who have some pride in the game. Maybe get rid of the east west thing and let the top 2 vote receivers be captains and pick their team. Or they could just get rid of this game and do more skill/fun contest stuff. They could even add a 1v1, 2v2... half court game or something as well.

No love for D. They should have a block contest. Gobert FTW.

I like your idea about home court advantage, but that would only get some players involved, how do you get all of them to be engaged?

I think if you get some of the players playing hard the rest will follow. They wont want to get embarrassed and let their teammates down who have something on the line.

Maybe give each player on the winning team 1-3 challenges they can use in the regular season to challenge any call by a ref. They all seem to bitch a lot about the refs.

Not bad, but that helps all teams in the west or the east equally, so there's no real impact in the standings. There has to be something...

If a franchise player got seriously hurt while participating in a mid-season exhibition game it would cost their team a shot at the title. I don't think we'll see a change in the format anytime soon.

The 1v1 or 2v2 would be interesting to see especially in an elimination format.

I know, the best team in one conference plays the worst in the other conference in the playoffs, the 2nd plays the 2nd worse in the other conference and so on... The only thing is, the teams from the conference that wins the allstar game all get home court advantage.

I'd love to see this.

Especially the 2v2.... you pick 2 players from your team and have at it. Have like a mini tournament.

Curry & Draymond VS CP3 & Blake ... etc, etc.

Genius or stupid? You won't hurt my feelings... I know that'd be a game I would root for the West to win, and the players would be fully engaged since there could be a lot to lose here. Then in the next rounds it would be back to the season records what mattered as for having home court advantage since there could be 2 teams in the same conference matching up with each other in the 2nd round. But there could be some upsets in the 1st round for sure. A darn good reason to compete in the allstar game.

That would be very entertaining. Who from the Jazz would you select? I think Exum and Gobert could do some damage with their defensive prowess.
