OFFICIAL: Trade Deadline Thread

Thee

Here is an article about Thompson for ya. Called a hard worker, who understands his role and is willing to do the dirty work.
They also say he has struggled in January and that it may be time to make room for Robinson....

Awwwww I new you cared, it would be huge if we could get him for the wet one.
This is from ESPN chat:

What do you think the bulls chances are for getting Al jefferson?

Michael Wallace (2:09 PM)

The better questions is, 'What are the Bulls willing to get up to get him?' because it will take parting with a key piece. If it's either of their All-Stars (Deng or Noah), I don't make that move. That means you'll have to work some sort of package around Carlos Boozer, and Utah has been there, done that.

At this point, who'll be traded from Utah? With which team(s)?

Michael Wallace (2:35 PM)

Right now, Utah is in the midst of one of its best stretches of the season and have the seventh seed in the West. The only problem is the Jazz have expiring contracts, and might not be able to re-sign a major free agent in the offseason, so they are in the same position as Toronto - meaning they have to take a big-money/marquee player contract that has additional years. Everything about the way they play would suggest Pau Gasol would be a perfect fit there, but I'm not sure if either of Utah's bigs - Al Jefferson or Paul Millsap - fit what D'Antoni truly wants.
How does Millsap not fit D'Antoni's run and gun style?
I would've said the Bulls' fan is semitarded.
no, just misinformed like a lot of us were about Al. I had no idea how inept Al was in pick'n roll, and how boozer like his defense was.

Weezur - I hope you are right.

To the guy that posted about Boozer -

Boozer is a much better player and if it comes down to resigning Al or trading Al for Boozer, I'd take Boozer all the way. I also think that if Boozer had a Favors backing him up on defense, we would like him a whole lot more.

But I don't want either.

Getting Boozer at this point is as easy as informally guaranteeing the Bulls that you'd bid X amount of dollars for him on waivers. Boozer might be gettable at $7mm per year, which would arguably be the best contract in the league. Favors-Boozer-Hayward-Marvin-Mo is alright -- hellubba lot better than one dimensional JeffyBall. Plus $27mm to spend, in addition to the option of trading Boozer next offseason to contenders who would line up for that contract.

I've been waiting all season to make a pimple poppin' case. Can I get an And 1?

The upside about having Boozer back is the fact the Kanter is waiting in the wings, hungry for big minutes. Boozer can fake another injury and that will force Ty to play Enes even though he will only be in his third year. We all know that Corbin doesn't like to give 3rd year players much time.

My trade:

The irony would be hilarious. We are better next year and probably end up competing for homecourt with Boozer.

Mo/Foye
Hayward (you don't have to bring him off the bench with Al gone)/Burks
Williams/Carroll
Boozer/Millsap
Favors/Kanter

That's a damn good team.

I would love to see Ty break the news to Paul...

"So ya... Your coming of the bench to back up boozer again"

I would only entertain boozer in the scenario Franklin suggested, off waivers!!

I fully support this post.

wait wait wait....are you people telling me you want to trade al for boozer? lmao

No, most of us are saying to let Jefferson walk and hope that the Bulls amnesty Boozer and then try and sign him for around 6 to 8 million a year.

I cannot believe there are so many posters who want Boozer back. I think you need to go back and read how much Boozer was hated on this board. Some Jazz fans love bringing back former Jazz players thinking they are better or the same as they use to be. I would rather have AJ just walk away and get nothing than bring back Carlos "no defense/I get hurt" Boozer to the Jazz. It is time for the FUTURE and not reliving the PAST.

It has nothing to do with WANTING Boozer back and everything to do with terrified that KOC will bring Al back. Al's name continues to be dropped in reference to Chicago, and Boozer is the easiest trade. If you had to take one, the obvious answer is Boozer.

Having Boozer back will serve to illustrate to everyone how clutch Al is on offense. All it takes is a few of Boozer's patented catapult jumpers.

Frying pan. Fire.

That Boozer actually made? As compared to Al's airballing 3's? At least Boozer can hit that shot and doesn't take 20 secs to get geared up to do so.
