Official UofU homer thread

Football season tickets have arrived.
It's at that point that I start getting a little bit excited.
And I'm a little bit excited.

To solve the problem with scheduling BYU as your P5 game, you could always schedule the crap P5 teams (Kansas, Iowa State, Illinois, Purdue, etc) to replace a G5 game. It's basically a guaranteed win either way. But I do kind of like the 2 on, 2 off idea that was mentioned.

I've decided green is a huge BYU fan or at least was and decided to pretend to be a Utah fan and suppress his love of BYU. He is seemingly Mormon which makes him a BYU fan even if he pretends not to be. He also has the most posts in the BYU thread and the most posts in the UofU thread about BYU. Maybe he is just embarrassed to admit it?

Maybe I just love to talk football and Cougarboard is way too stupid and Utefans doesn't talk about football...

maybe...

Could it also be that I do like both schools? My parents met and married at BYU. I did some time there as well. I graduated from Utah.

It's not that complicated.

What has happened is that I am a fan of both teams, but it happens so that Utah has been really, really good and BYU hasn't been. If BYU ever gets good and Utah slumps, everyone will think I'm a huge BYU homer and a Utah hater.

Cool, bandwagon fan it is!

No, but bouncing between two rival teams based on their success does.

I've never bounced. You misunderstood what I wrote. I've criticized some decisions that BYU has made, like going independent. So, I get labeled as a hater.

I say Utah will win 20 games over two years (they won 19) and I'm labeled a Ute homer.

My point was this:

If Utah left the PAC-12 and I criticized it and BYU had a really good team and I said that they would do well, that makes me a bandwagon fan?

That's kind of shallow, don't you think? Maybe I can be a fan and criticize or be a fan and hype? I dunno.

The worst fan on the planet is a fan that tries to play both sides of the Utah/BYU fence. I can respect a true blue BYU fan much more than a fence sitter.

When I see a car driving around the Wasatch Front with the combo Utah/BYU "A family divided" window sticker, it's all I can do not to run them off the road.
