Official UofU homer thread

You're a good guy, fish, but coming into a Utah homer thread and using BYU info to try and make an unnecessary point like this (we all know that injuries can derail a season without you telling us) has a less than minuscule chance of going well.

I just know more about byu than other teams and that is why I used them as an example.
I'm sure there is another team that has been decimated by injuries that I could have used but I don't follow non local teams very closely so I used what I know to make my point.

And you say "we all know injuries can derail a season" but that is why this whole discussion took off. You, me, and everyone agree with that sentence. Green wants to act like injuries only really hurt a non p5 team that has no depth. Injuries are no biggie to a p5 school like utah who has all this depth (despite the fact that green said the ute receivers suck and they have to use a qb to play safety)

there were definitely better ways to spend your morning.

That might be true of all jazzfanzers, but it's definitely true of you this morning.

Agree 100%

Chase Hansen has 2 healthy senior QBs ahead of him in the depth chart. The Utes are halfway through the season and remain undefeated. Why would KW not find a place to use his talent on the field? Why would Hansen not want to contribute to a great season? The hang ups about positions around here are over the top.

Back to USC. It makes me sad to see USC play. Could you imagine Porter and Masina on Utah's defense?

Even Langi being gone is sad. He wouldn't play this year, but he could step in for Norris next year and be a beast. I heard that Langi is one of the big reasons Sitake left. Crazy.

Anyways, Whitt has got to find a way to keep these kids home. Winning big this year would be an awesome first step.

Also, what about Kessler? He was terrible last year vs ranked teams. Has he improved this year? Or will we eat him alive ala Goff?

Man, crazy. What's even crazier, is statistically, we are headed into the much easier half of our schedule.

What a year.

If we show up on Saturday we should win. If USC shows up, watch out.

Talk to me after the first quarter, does Kessler have all day in the pocket? Does USC seem significantly faster than we do on the field? Answer those two questions, and I'll tell you who will win.

Utah isn't lucky:

"Warriors don’t rely on luck. Nor do they lean on astrological alignments or hidden messages in tea leaves. The Utes have had plenty of bad bounces this season. They have had their share of injuries. But those aren’t in the spotlight because they are 6-0."

Guess ESPN agrees with me and not Fish.

Good teams overcome. Bad teams make excuses.

The best thing I've heard that made me laugh/smile was when an ESPN analyst said something to the affect of "Utah is a lot like Ohio St, they keep winning but not impressively".....and everyone wanted to take that as a shot to Utah but all I could think is that coming into this season OSU was one of the biggest all time favorites going into a season and to even be in the same breath as them at this point is a compliment.

That's awesome. I want OSU if we can survive the season. I'd love to have a shot to take Urban down. Punish him for leaving. Ha ha.

Wait, who said the utes were lucky? I never did.
In fact I have only praised utah in this entire thread. Please find a post of mine where I use the word luck when referring to the utes. You should also try to find a post where I criticize the utes. You won't be able to.
