What's new

Official UofU homer thread

I was so puzzled that Hackett signed with NY considering they drafted a punter ahead of him. You'd think there's a team out there not in love with their current Punter that is willing to bring Hackett into camp. Why go into a camp to face off with a Punter that was drafted ahead of you?

I'm really torn on this. Hackett is one of my all-time favorite Utes and I want to see him have a great NFL career. But as a Dolphin fan, I'm not really stoked about the idea of watching Hackett in a Jet uni run for 1st downs on fakes and blowing up our punt returners when he's the last man to beat for the next 12 years.
I'm also a dolphin fan

I had high hopes for him. I hope he has nothing but success wherever he goes. Maybe he can be the Lillard.

Well, he's got a ways to go if last year was any indication. Freshman year was so promising, he looked like he could make a jump his sophomore year. Just never happened.

But yeah best of luck to him.

All the best to Chapman, he was pretty useless last year though..hope he finds tons of success at his next stop as long as it's not at the detriment of the a Utes...did they put a restriction on where he could transfer?

I hate when people say oh he's soft and afraid of competition when a guy transfers, not talking about Chapman in particular but these guys only have 4 years to play a game that 95% of them won't play after college....get the best of out of your 4 years

Apparently he can't go to another pac-12 school. I didn't know they put restrictions like that but I guess it makes sense.

I agree, we don't know exactly what went on we can only speculate, but at the end of the day you got to do only what's best for yourself.
