Official UofU homer thread

Fair enough on your points. But the fact is no one in the PAC-10 was excited about Utah or wanted Utah. They got in because we couldnt get the teams we wanted and we wanted the money from having playoffs. Utah was there but I think we should have held out for a better team or picked someone else that helped the conference more. Utah adds/added very little to recruiting or TV market.

According to this Utah is a more fertile recruiting ground than either Colorado or Oregon.

There is a lot of factors that could be debated in that but even if we stick to that being true, did the PAC-10 struggle to get Utah kids before and did Utah joining help or open up a market that wasn't being utilized already?

Well no ****, that's because it's Pac-10 vs Mtn West back than. Don't think that's a tough decision.

At the end of the day Utah greatly benefits for being in the Pac-12 yes, but also clearly has held it's own in the conference. I don't really see a argument on that.

So hopefully no issues with San Jose State.

Has anyone heard any updates on Tyrone Smith? He looked like he was really hurting when he came back in after halftime and attempted catching a single pass.

Nope, thanks for trying though. Guess when you have no argument you make stuff up.

I have always been a ducks fan since living in Oregon as a kid and moving to Eugene as a late teenager in the 90s cemented it. I have said on here and stick to that I slightly prefer BYU over Utah but dont follow or care for either team that much. I really dislike BYU the university but their football program I keep an eye on because my brothers really love them and that is the only thing they talk to me about but have never watched that many games ever and have never considered myself a fan of them.

I think you mixed yourself up. Your the former BYU fan that jumped to Utah because they are better right now according to you. You also said if BYU was better you might switch back or people might think you are a BYU homer.

Lol. I grew up outside of Utah, a fan of both schools. I attended and graduated from Utah.

Dude, you are flailing wildly here. Give it up. Your zoob is running over.

Also, you call my fan hood into question...when did you graduate from Oregon or BYU?

I'm not flailing, I was just quoting you on your fandom. I lived on campus at Oregon while taking classes at Lane community college, I planned on transferring to Oregon but changed my mind and moved back to Utah. I got my bachelor's from UVU and my masters from SUU. I'm not sure what that has to do at all with fandom. I'm an employee at Utah but that still doesn't make me cheer for them, never has. That would have 0 influence on my fandom.

I think you get a little confused on what a fan is though. Switching between schools based on winning isn't a real fan. Which is what you said you did. Glad for your sake BYU didn't win this year, it's hard switching between teams. Some of us pick a team and stick it out, regardless.

I don't think any of Utah's top recruits went to the BIG12 last year. Pac12 schools definitely have a leg up against other P5 conferences because of their presence here.

Is Utah Texas, no, but they do add value to the PAC12. To say otherwise is nonsense. Utah has improved since joining the PAC12 but they are still pretty much who they were. Oregon would be nobody without their affiliation with the California schools. Eugene, lol.

This rivalry has a weird dynamic. The trash talk is fairly mild leading up to the game. All the chippy posts seem to come after the game has been played. Either way, Utah is a very unimpressive 2-and-0 and headed for a tune up game @ SJSU.

Obviously a bad opponent, but will we still look this sloppy? Regardless of opponent, Troy Williams needs as much tuning up as he can possibly get. His decision making has got to get better and fast with USC looming. The O and D lines took a step forward in the right direction this past week. It needs to continue. I'm starting to feel better about Utah defensively. As per usual, we're sitting here hoping our offense can get better while the season progresses.

Whittingham has to be watching the BYU game film and pulling his hair out. That's the kind of game that will take years off of your life if you're the HC.

You are actually an employee at the U who thinks the PAC should have picked Boise State over them? Wow. That makes no sense. Are they forcing you to clean toilets 24/7 there or something?

Nope, I like the work I do there. My work there has 0 influence over my sports fandom.
