We haven't played anyone yet.

That's true. A FCS team, a crappy mid-major and another crappy mid major. I'm just glad our schedule has been so weak because 10? TO's vs a decent schedule and we are 0-3.

Thank heavens for cake walk OOC teams. Especially that second game. Who wins a game after having 6 TO's?

Chris Hill may have scheduled us a bowl game with how weak that OOC was.

This week will be a huge coaching challenge for Whitt. Last year, this team wasn't ready for the USC game. This game has me extremely nervous. USC is already on the brink of not contending for the South division should they lose.

Usually, when things seem to line up too good for Utah, they **** the bed. You have a chance to send USC into an 0-2 conference record and Stanford lined up to send UCLA to 0-1 in conference.

Yeah, I'm not feeling confident.

Obviously it's an excuse, but for the 2nd straight year we are playing USC when their backs are against the wall. Sucky.

It does suck. The flip side to that is that it sounds like those kids are about to quit on Clay Helton. If Utah can jump out to something like a 14-0 lead early, I think they'll fold their tents and go home. Conversely, the longer USC is leading or 1 score behind, their resolve will grow. The early game plan will be key.

Hard to believe players have quit on Helton
Seems like they campaigned vigorously to keep him last year
Who would want the USC job now if he gets fired

I'm going to the Utah @ Cal game in a couple weeks and looking at tickets.

Trying to decide if I'd rather sit in the Utah section which is in the end zone, or sit more along the side/corner and be with Cal fans. Price is about the same, just deciding if it's worth taking a worse view to be able to cheer and high five with Utes fans.

What do y'all think?

I'd sit with my Ute homies.

Yeah, I did. I said that Huntley has all the talent in the world and in a couple of years has potential to be really, really good.

The kid is a true freshman. I'm not silly enough to believe in a true freshman. True freshmen suck at QB.

Like you said, look at Alex Smith his freshman yr. How did that go? How did that end?

Keep true freshmen off the field at QB. It doesn't help them at all.

It was one series in garbage time don't be overly dramatic. Winn didn't set the world on fire as a freshman but he won his first game as a freshman and looked like he belonged.

Just saw that Helton is making a QB change and going with his freshman.

Utah has to take advantage of this. Friday night prime time game, bad weather, noisy home field advantage, defense coming off a 10 sack performance, and a Freshman QB making his first start.

Yup, need to rattle him early.
