What's new

Official Utah Utes Football 2012 Thread

I don't know why Ute fans are looking for a cliff to jump off of. On the road against a decent team with a chance to win late. No shame there. Relax.

I think, once the dust settled, most of us have calmed down. I agree with your brief analysis, and believe that USU is (was) probably as underrated as they have ever been. Gordon damn, I'd love to have Keeton on my team...

It would be nice to capitalize on the strength of our defense this year, but our offense would need to mature rapidly to make significant noise. I am encouraged by the little nuggets we've seen of Travis Wilson, but he is nowhere close to ready to take this team on his shoulders. I expect good things of him in the years upcoming.

There is still hope that the team will galvanize, and make a respectable show in conference.

Losing Wynn helps the Utes, but there is still the big issue of the O-line. The tackle play was really scary and going against Van Noy won't ease my worries.

Keep in mind USU center Larsen is a legit player and probably a future pro. Lotu will have it much easier against BYU.

So in Whitt's press conference, he's saying the starter for Saturday is undecided. It's a competition in practice this week. Who do you guys want to see start - Hays, with his greater experience but lesser tools, or Wilson, with his zero experience and great potential?

Personally - I know it's dangerous - I'd like to see Wilson start. A 3 or 4 year starter quarterback would be so awesome!

I'd love to see Wilson start, but we haven't seen hardly enough of his arm to make a judgement...

It's got to be Hays right now with Wilson getting more reps and snaps as the season progresses.

And it just gets better. My brother just told me that his (well placed) sources say that Eric Rowe will be out indefinitely and John White will miss the game Saturday.

Who is Eric Rowe?

Also, I know there's problems on the o-line. My guy, Vincent Jones, went from 6th man to starting last week at LG. But problems as LT pushed him to RG. Good to see him finally getting a run.

It's gonna be Hays under center. Gamesmanship by Whit there.

I don't disagree with you, but I saw a 28 yard TD pass against USU that looked pretty darn good to me...as well as a couple of passes in the No. Colorado game.

I agree, start Wilson.

Wilson, Wilson, Wilson, Wilson, Wilson, Wilson!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!!!!!!!!!1!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That actually sucks about Rowe... he's good... and White out... really, this has to be a trick somehow. I bet we see them both on the field Saturday.
