Offseason - Tomorrow Begins Today

I think the Jazz are going to bring in a different point guard and a forward whom they believe can score and knock down open shots.

That latter player could be a moneyball move like McGruder, Ross, Lamb or even Hezonja if they believe in him. Keep a eye on what happens with Satoransky in Washingto.

We need to keep Favors. He is really good and improving.

So far in the playoffs he has the 4th highest PIE in the NBA of any player over 15 min per game. It goes Embiid, Jokic, Giannis, Favors, Kawhi, and then Durant.

I think Favors might be as good as Gobert when healthy. At the very least we need to pick up his contract and trade him for a good player next season.

I don’t think anyone else is offering instant cap relief for Love. Those teams are either looking at free agency or not anywhere on Love’s timeline, so Cleveland can’t be picky (but they’ll pretend to be picky enough to weasel DL out of a first rounder). Absorbing Love into capspace kills us because we have other tweaks we need to make.

Absorbing Love into cap space would be necessary to improve the tem because the MLE would become available. It would be difficult to add Love and about 10 million in cap space. That said, I don't want Love.

I don't think cap relief matters to the Cavs either as they're balls deep in a full on rebuild and so you may as well pay a guy like Love his money to reach your 90% of the cap and be able to be extra cautious with how you go about playing him/limiting his minutes/managing his load, etc. I don't think they're that desperate to get off Love's deal, and I also think the Cavs know they'll get more suitors for Love when he's got less years on his deal which would fit their timeline if they draft well and want to retool around young pieces.

I sort of hope they get the #1 pick. They’d get Zion which could make playing time tough to come by for Nance and/or Love. I’d love to get Nance.

I think Bogdanvoic might be a more realistic target than guy's like Kemba, Middleton, Tobias, etc. He'd be a really good fit and a solid second option offensively.

Bogdanovic: 18 points PG on 50% shooting from the field and 43% from 3-point range.

Very solid numbers. I’d like him but we still need to go out and get a star PG as well.
