Oh Turkey

dont compare this to voting.
has nothing to do with voting

The terrorism was not really about "the video" that no one saw, but speech and voting are both freedoms that terrorists react violently to...doesn't mean you should have to stop speaking or voting to appease them.

When Mormons got mocked in a Broadway play they didn't murder anyone or set anything on fire, they bought add space.

I'm very disappointed. I thought Turkey was more moderate than this.

I'm disappointed because I thought he was going to mention this kind of turkey:

Does said protest involve murder? Destruction of property? Assualt on foreign embassies? Oh it does? Then no.

If it is a group marching, chanting slogans, holding signs then by all means protest your hearts out.

You know how many Muslims there are compared to the ones that caused destruction of property etc right? The media focuses on the black sheep's and labels them as exemplary Muslims.

Of course it does. Otherwise, it truly wouldn't be freedom of speech. It all comes down to one thing, you can disrespect Christianity all you like and you really don't have to fear any repercussions. But if you say one bad thing about Islam or draw a cartoon regarding it then you better run for your life. People need to grow up and get some thicker skin.

People should be allowed to express their freedom of speech by making a movie offensive to Islam but then they shouldn't be allowed to express their freedom of speech in protest of that film!

Another contradiction of the atheist dogma.

I don't see anyone saying that Muslims shouldn't be allowed to protest a film they hate. What you don't understand is that it has escalated far beyond protesting when they breach our embassy walls. I am not even bringing up the attack in Libya because that was a preplanned terrorist attack. But they have no business at all in Cairo breaching our embassy walls. If you disagree with this then you are not even worth discussing this with.

When PearlWatson is making salient points against several posters, you know a situation has gone really rotten.

On the other hand, those arguing that rioting, embassy assault, murder, and essentially acts of war are a reasonable response to hurt feelings were already some of the worst posters this board has ever seen and that was true before they spilled diarrhea out of their fingertips in this thread.

Al-Qaeda uses these anti Islam movies as propaganda and causes some people in certain countries to inflict terrorists actions. The media then turns around and shows them as exemplary Muslims doing what Muslims always do and then weak minded individuals like yourself think that this is typical Muslim behavior. I'm tired of all these kafir crying crocodile tears over the lives lost in these embassies while Israel keeps its genocide on the Palestinians which the media does not show.

For example, if I draw a cartoon which shows Jesus or Mary sucking something, Christians, let me say even the Amish, all would be content with it, right?

It's one thing to merely not be content with something. Committing acts of violence (and imo, wishing harm on people) goes way beyond not being content.

Here's an idea for you. Try drawing two pictures, one of Jesus and one of Mohammed doing the same vile thing. Put one on each side of a poster and go march in any city in the US. Then take the same poster and head over to the middle east (you may want to up your life insurance before you go to leave a little something for your loved ones) and see what happens.

Watch this:

Jesus was a homosexual.

I bet I didn't start a riot.

Free speech is atheist dogma? Well if you insist I guess I'll take credit for free speech.

Expressing ideas can be countered by the expression of contrary ideas. It's all very civilized.

The violent protests would be like if your kid says he hates you so you go in the back yard to the chicken coop and start stomping on chickens to teach your kid a lesson about offending you. It was even more childish than your child saying they hated you. It had nothing to do with what your child said. It didn't even address your child directly.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

If people get super pissed they can peaceably assemble, not wreck house and kill people.
