What's new

OJ Mayo????

No. Just at a mavs fan forum and they seemed as happy about possibly getting rid of him as we are of getting rid of Jefferson. Therefore, don't want.

If the Mavs forum is like this one, people basically want to get rid of everyone who gets playing time when you aren't contending. The players that get glorified are those that aren't getting a lot of minutes because people are so sure they would be great. Then they get their turn and the cycle starts over. So I wouldn't use a Mavs forum as the source for data.

He has some skills, but I'm not sure we want him in the locker room with the C4. Kanter might end up beating him up just like Tony Allen did.

Mmmmm, **** no.

More than once this year it was a good thing the Dallas coach wasn't packing heat on the bench or Mayo would be dead right now. I think the thing that made the coaching staff so angry is that there did not appear to be much desire to play hard or hustle on the defensive side of the ball.

The difference between CJ Miles and OJ Mayo is that Mayo gets playing time.

This a joke? The Mayo hate on Jazzfanz is crazy. He was hype since middle school, I guess everybody was expecting him to have LeBron numbers these days, but he is nowhere near inconsistent as CJ Miles is.

Only reason I don't want him on the team is Corbin. Mayo would have the time of his life here playing in Utah, having free will to shoot. I know OJ, saw him play in HS once.

Better than Mo, tho.

A bucket of turds is better than Mo. Please do not let the Jazz sign Mo again. I would rather have 10 Ovinton J'Anthony Mayos than one Mo.

I don't hate Mayo, but he doesn't make us any better.

picture this with mayo signed the jazz could then use burks it bring in Bledsoe. draft schröder and Austin (21 on chad fords big board). also nab Nate wolters in the second.

Bledsoe, schröder, wolters
mayo,
Hayward, Carroll
kanter
favors, Austin

pretty solid future there.

I agree I think we could get similar production out of Burks. Not as good of a shooter, but I think will be a better playmaker. Also we can have him for a lot CHEAPER.

Mayo is turrible. His coach repeatedly called him out for a lack of effort and their fanbase hated him. Signing him would be a large mistake.

I love everything about Mayo except his lack of defense.

And his lack of getting to the free throw line....... Big issues? lol

Not worth the price unless he is around 7-8 million a year. Not worth 10 million.

Sucks because he is one of the best options right now. But I don't like him really because he is not consistent. Hard to be consistent if you don't get to the line.

He's better than Mo or Foye, but I'm wondering how hard he'd play if he gets a big payday. He's a high-usage player who can definitely score the ball, but he's not really a first option. I'm not sure how well he meshes with other players, and he doesn't really have the size to defend big SGs. Makes me think he should come off the bench. I think he's on par with Ben Gordon a few years ago.

The Jazz have probably one, or two shot creators in Hayward/Burks. If they look poised to take it to that level next season, then fine. But we do need somebody who can create offense. Who isn't going to sit and be stagnant. OJ was playing in Dallas to a bunch of washed up veterans, and his %'s still looked pretty crisp.

Watching this reminded me of watching Mo Williams play. Same stile, same type of moves, same shot selection. No thanks,
