What's new

Old Man Logan

I don't think they handle the X Men alternate universe/timeline stuff very well in the movies. Does Loan have adamantium covered claws or not? Is professor X alive or not? for me it really detracts from the stories to just keep changing everything up on all the characters. It's like a fancier more expensive Simpson episode. You know when it's over nothing will really be changed since they can just make a new alternate timeline and have everyone back.

It's the same in the comics though. All sorts of heroes die and come back, time jumps, alternate dimensions, Wolverine had bone claws, adamantium, back to bone then adamantium again in the comics.

The X-men story has always been messy. That messiness has carried over. Intended or not.

I guess if you are really into the comics that might work or be explained. to me it takes the weight out of the stories. no substance when there are really no consequences.

Without that back knowledge yeah it is just messy and confusing. Age of Apocalypse X-men in the comics are hard core. Prof X is dead, Magneto steps in to lead the X-Men in his honor, Wolverine is a one handed killing machine (almost feral), Angel is Archangel and a Horseman of Apocalypse and he murders everything...

I have been watching Luke Cage. Pretty good. I like the start contrast between him and the heroes in the movies. The entire feel is different.

Have not watched the Daredevil series but I love the casting for The Punisher. Also Rosario Dawson crossed over from one series to the other. Connects it all.

There are two upcoming Avenger movies that are rumored to have 40+ named heroes and villains in it. Could the Netflix heroes (Luke Cage, Daredevil and Punisher) be in those movies?

Not sure how I feel about the merely human, not elite superheroes. I mean, batman an iron man is really the only purely human heroes but they are still elite in they own right. What was that one with Jennifer Garner? She was hot but the plot sucked. To plain human. Same goes for Halle Berry as cat woman. Damn she looked fine but the movie sucked.

Well Logan is the last one they are making (probably just going to sell the properties back to Marvel I'd assume) and everyone is pretty much dead.

I would bet somewhere along the line this will get backpedaled. If it is making money they will milk that cow till the teats fall off. Get ready for reboots.

Well no ****, but I'm pretty sure its the last one from Sony.

What does it matter who is making the movies? Most people don't pay attention to that at all. It will still muddy the waters even more in terms of timelines, etc.

How does it not matter? Marvel does a really good job of handling timelines in their universe and that seemed to be your main gripe. They would reset with new actors. Nearly positive Jackman said this is his last wolverine.
