What's new

only if kevin o connor saw one of my post in the offseason

I thought I would see Stephen Howard at Jurassic Park 2 at the Layton Tinseltown and I was right.

This is why I hate the Lakers.

What matters with offseason moves is RELATIVE improvement. How have we improved with respect to the Lakers. Unfortunately a lot of fans seem just excited as soon as we add a couple of players thinking that we improved drastically. You have to only turn around and see that the Lakers have added 3 guys to their own. They have even widened the gap between them and other teams. And it is even debatable how much we improved, if at all. We lost some key players too, while adding some.

Lakers have their top 6 guys from last season and to that core managed to add Barnes, Blake and Ratliff, while retaining Brown. Impressive. I remember saying at that time that those were solid additions while a couple of guys here were just poo-poohing it. It is paying dividends now. Kobe is just going to be much that much fresher in the playoffs.
Oh well, I guess you can always hope for a season-ending ACL from Gasol or Kobe. That's the best you can do.

This is where I lose touch with what the NBA is doing. How in the hell is LA affording all of these players?

He is definitely benefiting from being the open guy from Gasol and Bryant double teams, much like Trevor Ariza did. Still deserves credit for improving his game though. I remember our boy Hayward shut him down in preseason for what its worth.

Remember when i said the Jazz would be 10-5 after the first 15 games of the season, they would sweep the dreaded 4 game eastern road trip, and theat all in Utah would survive "The Day After Tomorrow" storm of the century?

Just call me Nostradamus from now on please.

Oh yea...... I predicted Shannon Brown's turnaround.... can you say MIP, and 6th man of the year.

LA's Salary is about 20 million more than Utah. Easily the number 1 in the league, with Dallas and Orlando close behind. Utah is 6th highest in the league.

I think LA has some good value players and some bad value players. For what they are getting out of Shannon Brown or Matt Barnes, they are eating it with Luke Walton's 5 million a year and Bynum's 15 million a year.
