Orlando Robinson waived

The kings have waived Orlando Robinson. I liked him a lot in Miami but he has always been buried on deep rosters.

I would rather see a 24 year old getting minutes instead of Eubanks. If he flames out so be it. If he develops the jazz might have a solid back up.

Eubanks is 28 in February, not exactly old. He’s generally been fabulous when allowed to play. Phoenix would give anything to have him and his jump hook and soft hands back with the two blacksmiths they currently have. Anyway, regardless who we have will be backup to Flip, (Hendricks when returns) and the incoming rooks for probably at least another season.

I think the league learnt the lesson of Drummond/Whiteside and moved away from empty stats big men long ago. Rebounding and scoring inside are like the two easiest skills(if it takes any skill at all) in today's small ball/space driven league. Just like Moses Brown who was a walking double double whenever he played but is also having trouble securing even a two-way contract. The league figured out what these big men were all about. If you can't guard the perimeter, don't have any skill with the ball, lacking general fundamentals like boxing out/setting screens, you won't make it, period. I think we ourselves learnt that same lesson when DL burnt a million draft picks on back up bigs like Bradley/Dok/Blomboy, etc.

i don't disagree with the above post (jom2003) at all, but for whatever reason i like robinson and i'm not sure eubanks is any more impactful defensively, or with the ball, etc - but at least robinson can score and rebound. at the very least, he'd look good while helping the jazz lose. i say bring him in and let him put up an empty 18 and 10 on occasion.

but yeah, there is a reason nobody has kept him around.
