Other Utah Sports Forum Options

Thinking through offering some other forums for possibly University of Utah, BYU, etc. that would all be available with the same login as JazzFanz and same shared message boards (Gen Discussion, etc.) but be branded and specific to their team. The majority of our folks that engage on here are local to Utah but of course not all. Would you be interested in a one-click away discussion on the Utes or Cougars or ? that includes the same folks that you converse (argue) with from JazzFanz?

I'm not sure how representative this is to the entire JFC, but in this poll less than 30% of the participants lived in Utah: https://jazzfanz.com/threads/where-...ah-or-outside-poll.178266/page-2#post-2216056

I think a lot are like me though, and lived in Utah at one point of their life. Personally I still follow a lot of Utah sports and would participate in other forums if available.

I do not follow college sports at all. I mean, I went to Weber State, so, yeah. I wouldn't participate very much. I am not sure what percentage would be like me either. Should make this a poll in GD or in the Jazz forum.

Do these college teams have good forums elsewhere? If not then it's probably a good way to increase the overall userbase by bringing in people who might not be Jazz fans. If they do have good forums already then it might be a pretty low use situation.

So, you'd just set up other DNS pointers for UtezFanz.com, CougzFanz.com, etc, set them up with other sections? Maybe different skins depending on which portal you enter through?

How much additional upkeep would it be for you? A few more bucks for registrations and DNS, maybe a little more storage, possibly a little coding to do the skinning, if you went that way. Doesn't seem unreasonable.

Yeah, basically. Something I debated for years but, like others mentioned, there are more established forums out there. Might be worth a shot to try.

Utah State never does anything in the tournament. I had hoped the new coach could change that, but it's the same old.
