Pau Gasol Trade - Steve Nash Implications

Great big men rarely fall off that greatly past their 30's, unless they have some kind of major injury.
1. I don't consider Pau as a "great" big man. Very good, highly skille - yes. Not "great."
2. A major reason a bigs' game declines as he ages is because of injuries and wear & tear - so saying a 7-footer's game won't fall off if he stays healthy isn't really logical because the odds of remaining in perfect health certainly work against someone as they play into their 30's.

He's not gonna be anyone's backup, so scratch SAS and OKC off the list. Miami, maybe. I think Portland could be a real possibility as he probably would like playing in the Northwest. Honestly looking at teams across the league and realistic scenarios, I think if he had to make a list of 5 teams that he'd consider I think we might be on it.
Given his history w/the franchise, Dallas could also become a prominent player if they fail to land Deron Williams.

Fair. I would say Gasol is on the cusp of being great/very good. I still think you limit his minutes in the reg season to 30-ish, then use him heavy in playoffs and he gives you great results. I can see your side of the argument no doubt though.

Just get Nash. Everything sorts out pretty well once you do that. Gasol is meaningless next to getting Nash. But I'll take him too for any deal that doesn't involve Favors.

I mean if we can't get Nash then we can get Dragic. Then use the TPE and 2nd rounder to trade for Morrow. If Millsap isn't fine with coming off the bench trade him for Iggy.

Dragic/Tinsley/Watson
Hayward/Burks/Morrow
Iggy/Morrow/Hayward
Gasol/Favors/Evans
Favors/Kanter

Also, I feel like the only way LA agrees to give up Gasol is if we give them someone young in return. I think LA would want Millsap and Kanter for Gasol at minimum, this would allow them to trade to trade Bynum if Kanter fulfills his potential.

There is no way that I would give them both Millsap and Kanter. Personally, I would want to trade AJ to the Lakers for Gasol. I believe Gasol has one more year on his contract than does AJ. Jazz might have to throw a player into the mix perhaps a sign and trade with Josh Howard being part of the deal. Kanter isn't ready to play full time but the kid is 20 years old. With AJ out of the way, Gasol plays with Favors and Millsap and Kanter come off the bench.

Gasol was great a few years ago. He was easily top 2 bigs in the league. Him and Dwight. Im not sure what his deal is now ,but if he returned to form. He would be great.

We would have been so much better if we had him instead of Boozer or Okur.
