Pelicans aggressively trying to acquire a first round pick.

Didn't Anderson have a potentially career ending neck injury last year? I don't see us trading for him unless he proves he can stay healthy.

The rule isn't specifically that you can't trade away 2 consecutive 1st round picks. It's that you can't trade them away if they are your only first rounders. Since we would be giving them 23 this year they could give us theirs next year. (assuming that they have have a 2016 first)
 
Yeah. The rule is that you can't trade away future picks in consecutive years. You've got to have one available in order to trade another one away.
 
What's the difference between Anderson and Marvelous Marvin?

Wouldn't it make more sense to merely resign Marvin and keep our own picks?

You would swap a better unprotected for Anderson? I'm guessing by unprotected 2015 you really mean top 6 protected or something, but that still seems way too high given the likelihood of the Peecans not being bottom dregs forever.

I'm a big Ryan Anderson fan though. If they want a big then give them Kanter and the 35 as 1st offer, Kanter and 23 2nd.
 
Pierre Jackson would be an interesting pickup. His development in the D-league exclusively is exactly why I want the bottom two guys down there the whole season.
