Broncs killing it
I'd rather Burke or Burks not have the ball in short clock situations very often. The guy that should be doing that for this team is named Hayward more often than not. And frankly having Burke on the floor puts the team in those short clock situations more often than having him on the bench. Not only that but when in those short clock situations Burke doesn't give the ball to Hayward to make the play. He tries to do it himself and as you said does it poorly.
.
And I would not call Burke a facilitator on offense in any way. He's a ball dominant PG that does virtually nothing to make the players around him better. We get more out of rhythm and poor shots with Burke in the game that when he is not. That is why he was moved to the bench every bit as much as him being a poor defender was. I just can't see Burks being worse at that than Burke. I'm not a Burks homer, far from it I've been one of the most critical of him on here. But he's a better player than Burke, and I have no desire to watch our 4 best players watching Burke dominate the ball again this year when they should be the ones with the ball.
Complete strawman
No doubt Quin's offense does NOT need a traditional PG. I'm just worried on the defensive end. Gobert can stop some penetration, but he can't erase chronically poor perimeter defense. How many open 3's would that lineup give up?

I didn't say Rudy doesn't help the perimeter defense. I said he can't cure CHRONICALLY poor perimeter defense. Sure he helps. But to say you can have two poor defenders on the perimeter and it doesn't matter because Gobert is inside is erroneous. Exum was a very good defender; Burks hasn't shown that ability. Will Hood and Burks close out on 3PT shooters? Will they fight through screens? Pretty easy for opponents to just fire away. Or get past Burks and pass off to the open center when Rudy steps up to help.Gobert DOES improve perimeter defense. He doesn't guard the perimeter, but are you kidding me? If you had the French Verge behind and you were guarding the perimeter, would you expect the drive? Or would you cheat slightly more to the perimeter? Gobert shrinks the floor. That's why our perimeter defense improved last season. Putting additional length on the perimeter with Dante Exum (and in his absence) Alec Burks starting at point makes a lot of sense defensively.
Burks is Dwayne Wade!!!

Fish is probably the biggest jazz fan on the board. If I had to wager my spare change jar on who would be first in line to give the players rim jobs it would without a doubt be him.
