Here is a thought for everyone on this very subject. What happens if the Jazz get into the playoffs and actually make a little run? Are they then going to extend Jefferson, Millsap, Harris and possibly even Miles past the end of their respective contracts? Are they going to just hope the the playoff experience was enough for the Fearless Four (yes, I am going to run with it) and still move those vets?

Imagine Al's trave value if we somehow make it to the second round

So if we make the 2nd round (or heaven forbid I dream and they make the WCFs) and Harris adn Big Als trade value shoots up. Would you want them traded for vets that better fit our needs or try to angle for a lotto pick? Would having/not having GSW lotto pick affect your decision?

The poll question is flawed, as you can tell by most posts in this thread.

Most are still connecting the a lotto pick with the playoffs. Whether it be through the GS pick or trade.

One can only infer that this isn't a black and white question as the pole wants to indicate.

A better question would be,

would you rather be in the playoffs as a 6-8 seed and not have any draft picks this year or miss out on the playoffs and have at least 1 lotto pick?

And yet that doe snot capture allt he possible outcomes either. Very complicated and not an easy answer.

Hence, why I said this isn't a black or white choice. It's complicated. I didn't say my question was perfect and addressed every single issue. But it's surely better than asking... PICK or PLAYOFFS?

Well duh, I'd rather have the playoffs.

But I want a championship run and would much rather roll the dice in the lotto than being dumped quickly in the playoffs.

I think this all depends on the draft positions after the lottery. If there is a team needing a 20/10 big or a serviceable pg in the top three I say we look to trade for better draft position.

Well, I can easily see the Jazz extending the vets of the Jazz make it to the 2nd round. If they do extend the vets, then we might have the same issues that we have right now for another couple of years. Is that what we really want to happen?

Assuming that the trade value of Jefferson and Harris is going to go up is a fair assumption. Assuming that they will be traded is a little silly. Why would the Jazz want to blow up a team that got to the 2nd round of the playoffs? Be careful what you hope for.

Jesus Christ, lay off the coffee. I never said you did any of that. If anything my post reinforces your post. Get a grip.
