LOVED OUR DRAFT.

Only thought that crossed my mind is will we regret passing on Schroeder for Burke?

Since you're a basketball junkie, figured I'd ask.....

Seems as though Schroeder will be the better defender and more explosive, but Burke is a leader

Would Schroeder of been happy in Utah ? seems as thought Trey will fit in just fine

I question all of that too. Burke is the best PG in the draft tight now but I don't think he will be in 3 years.

Schroedder being better than Burke is a joke.

I do think there is a good chance McCollum ends up the better player.

I really wanted McCollum, but I dont know **** compared to Lindsey obvi.

Different types of players all together. As much as I love Schroeder I think Burke is a much better fit for your young team for the following reasons:

- He's a much better / accomplished offensive player. He can create and shoot off the dribble. He was one of the best off the dribble shooter in college bball last year. I do believe it would take Schroeder a good 2-3 years to develop the kind of offensive repertoire that Burke already has.

- He's a much better shooter, especially 3 point shooting. He will complement our bigs in the middle no problem whatsoever. We desperately lack this even when DWill was here, he couldn't hit the 3's with any regularity.

- He's a much better leader on and off the court. This is key to bringing together our young group of guys. They can grow together.

- Lastly, I just think Burke is a much safer bet. With Schroeder you're risking a lot. You risk him not settling down in the US. You risk his attitude problems. You risk him not becoming an offensive player that we need him to be.

I know everyone has seen this kids mixtapes, but pkm, you think this tiny bro has any chance of being the next incarnation of an even more electric earl boykins?

I thought Burke's game was very similar to ...

Deron Williams.

Burke being smaller will hurt him a bit on the defensive end, and maybe result in more injuries. But, on the offensive end they looked remarkably similar to me. I don't think the drop off from DWill to Burks is going to be very large. Which is amazing considering we got Favors and Kanter as well in the deal. (yes, I know I can't logically attribute Burke wholly to NJN, but, it's hard not to do so.)

I expect a very similar stat line to Deron's first year in the league. Maybe a little less 3P%. Maybe not.

I'm pretty excited to get Burke. I really didn't think there was much chance to land him.

But, my new favorite player is Gobert. I think I'm going to enjoy cheering for him much like I did for Ostertag. It's one of those love/hate things that I don't expect anyone to understand.

We may only win 25 games this year, but, I'm totally excited.

Unlike Ostertag, Gobert has exceptional hands for a big. Not just big hands but soft hands and can catch in traffic.

We should never need anything more out of him offensively than being able to catch dump offs and lobs. He could ave 8pts a game just off those and I'd be happy knowing he will also be a fantastic rim protector.

Can't teach height and you can't teach soft hands. Ask Greg Ostertag.

I've decided to only point out the positives.

Burke is the leader and presence the jazz have lacked

Burke has a great assist to TO. ratio.

good in pick'n roll play

Great under pressure... Jazz always seemed to be a mess in the last 2 minutes of a game. He will be a calming influence in these moments. Wants the ball in the clutch

Creates opertunities for teamates.

Good jump shooter, and can create separation to get his shot off.

Did I miss anything

If Gobert can be a more dedicated Ostertag we got us a stud third big. Ostertag could've been very good player, and all defensive team if he had been more serious about his career.

Trey Burke pretty good comparison is Kemba Walker.

I read that. It's in reference to his size. The question is will Burke struggle with passing because he's just shy of 6 ft. tall. Also, will Trey get pushed around on defense by bigger, more physical PG's and possibly have injury concerns because of that. I think there are valid concerns. Jazz certainly need a quality backup.

Burke lists at 6'1". He has exceptional feel for the game, great IQ, sharp passing and he plays at a really high pace. Clearly the headiest and best PG. McCollum may be a better scorer, but Burke can run a team and get more out of everyone else on the floor. He's a guy who can make everyone else better right away.

Seems like we used to have another guy who was listed at 6'1" and 175lbs. And he did just fine.

I'm not too concerned.

No one knows, for sure, who will end up being the better player. No one knows, either, how Schroeder would enjoy playing in Utah.
Having said that, I would rather have Burke MANY times over Schroeder. What Burke brings to the table in leadership, 'it', CLUTCHNESS, pure point skills, and SHOOTING... I'll take over the supposed 'upside' of Schroder. It's not even close for me.

Yes, OF COURSE!

We are merely spectators to the inputation of PKM.

You made me laugh, Cy.

PKM is a fake.............................................................................

Archie has really been hating on me a lot lately. Not sure why, but I'm good with it.
