Favors- he has all the ability in the world, but is not going to get any better with inconsistent minutes. Does he always deserve more minutes? No. But, come on he was the youngest player in the league last year and has shown improvement when given the opportunity this year. I think there are many more games like he had against Philly if given the minutes and he can stay out of foul trouble.

I think the problem is in his head. I'm worried about the kid. I think Ty would be more consistent with him if he were doing anything consistently well. He's responsible for being more consistent than he's been. nuff said.

Pretty harsh, but somewhat fair .. I guess. It's fairly obvious, I think, that Favors lacks a killer instinct. He makes up for that by using his explosiveness here and there .. I'd like to see him just get pissed and want to eat children for breakfast, but I don't see it. Having said that, he's got the upside that clearly warrants more PT.

Look, I'd like to see him play 28-30 minutes a night. I still hope he's the next great thing. But, for the past 15 +/- games he's had his dick in the dirt. He needs some kind of victory, and he needs to ride that toward some consistency.

I'd guess that he's been inconsistent in practice, too. Right from the beginning of the season Ty was LOOKING for an excuse to pass him the torch. He dropped it, and he's been sulking about it instead of building another fire.

Obviously, Enes should not get more than 20min /game.

The shots that fell short were indications of him running out of gas. Enes really commits himself to defending, rebounding, and positioning himself in PnR situations. He, probably, would've hit 2-3 of those open 9-10 footers, normally. Also, the game is still fast for him. Kurt Thomas, no way, should be able to block Kanter easily, on a lay-up or dunk attempt.

However, you gotta be impressed with how fast he has made strides in trying to adapt to the NBA game, considering that he had not played competitive basketball (neither in Europe, nor in NCAA) prior to this season, and considering that rookies and sophomores were the ones mostly and greatly affected by lack of training camp, offseason workuots w/ coaches. Another impressive thing of him for me is that we can argue, Kanter, a 19 year-old center, was a difference maker in 4-5 games.

Not that Burks or Favors do not deserve. Burks came up huge w/ his 2 threes in Suckramento game, an indication of his fearless attitude and self-confidence. He is already a good defender and does not back up from physical contact. However, I feel like he sometimes forces the issue too much, and w/ Watson already forcing the tempo, that tends to get the team out of control. So, overally, one can make a rational case for Favors deserving of more mins, as well as Burks.

In short, I'm going with Enes for 18-20 mins per game.

Pretty happy with the minutes. I don't think they should just let these guys have all the minutes automatically. They should have to earn and fight for their minutes which I think they are for the most part. That being said I think big guys are getting about the right amount of minutes. I would play Burks a bit more though.

BURKS
a: He gets less minutes than favors and Kanter already.

b: the wings that play in front of him (hayward, bell, miles, howard) have all struggled alot more than the bigs that play ahead of favors and kanter (jefferson, milsap)
