Players have conceded to 50 / 50

... or is it simply that they feel like the deal is close enough to take a vote? If you're miles apart, no reason, close enough .. go to the masses.
The people in charge don't want it to goto a vote. That the other players are starting to call for a vote on the proposal tells me that they are losing them. I said before the players would break when they lose the journeymen and mid level players. The superstars and people negotiating may never break but when the majority of the players get sick of the BS from the union they will break the union from the bottom up. It seems to me this could be the 1st sign of that. It also means the people in charge are going to be pushing for a quicker resolution so they don't appear to have been thwarted from within their own ranks. Just my opinion though.

A labor deal is done? So says former president of the Knicks and Jazz, Dave Checketts on ESPN Radio. Checketts has been a long-time friend of David Stern and is currently an advisor to Tom Gores and the Pistons.

Ken Berger of CBSSports.com though says not so fast. He tweets: "Person in the room assures me that no agreement has been reached. They're about to hit the five-hour mark here in New York."

Kate Fagan of the Philadelphia Inquirer tweets this: "Source briefed on talks says this about having reached a deal: 'Not yet, we have to cross T's and dot I's. Right there though.'"

Zach Lowe of SI.com though tweets in reference to Checketts: "Source in the room on Checketts: '100 percent false.'"

We could be having some ball soon!

Looks like it would've been appropriate for Dave to Checkett (check it) first ...

Why am I not surprised that Checketts is the person throwing out unsubstantiated bull crap. If there is a bigger bunch of dong-smoking pooh tongues than the Checketts', I'll be a monkey's uncle.
