Has anyone seen or heard anything about gobert ankle?
He rolled it pretty bad in that nuggets game but seemed to be ok. Just curious if anyone has heard anything.

Saturday’s Utah Jazz Injury Report

Ricky Rubio — PROBABLE (right quad contusion)

Raul Neto — PROBABLE (left ankle soreness)

Kyle Korver — QUESTIONABLE (right knee soreness)

What do you think about the rockets sticking harden on Royce on the other end?
Would we be able to take advantage of hardens terrible defense? Royce doesn't set screens or get screens set for him much and I think putting harden in pick n rolls should be a priority.
Would harden not have to work much to guard Royce?

I definitely like the idea of Royce guarding harden but I don't know if I like it at the expense of us losing the opportunity to attack harden when on offense.

I also worry that Royce might foul too much (he is very physical and "handsy" defense) and get harden too the line early and often.

I don't have any better ideas though. I would just hope that the rockets wouldn't be able to stick harden on someone who doesn't initiate offense or get involved much in the screens and picks we set.

So you’re saying we start Royce and Rubio and bring Mitchell off the bench.

I like it.

Royce and Niang are going to have to pick up their 3PA to make up for Korver being out. I don't understand why Royce doesn't get more shot attempts. I know he is primarily focusing on D but we are going to need to get points from someone else to complement Mitchell/Rudy/Ingles/Favors. I don't have much confidence in Jae right now.

Good news is that niang has been playing at his peak for a good stretch now.
He goes into the playoffs strong. As does DM, Rudy, and Joe. Royce has been pretty good lately (all around) and so has thabo.
Gonna need jae to inpeove, favors to play like he was, and Ricky to be better than average. I don't worry about steady neto and his limited minutes at all.

I have always said, and mostly still believe, that our X-factors are Royce and jae taking and making outside shots. I feel that if they do that we win. Unfortunately Royce usually doesn't take enough and jae don't make enough. Hopefully they peak during the playoffs

Rubio 30 Mitchell 12 Neto 6 Naz 0
Mitchell 24 O’Neil 24 Korver? Allen 0
Ingles 30 Thabo 18
Favors 18 Crowder 30 Niang 0
Gobert 33 Favors 15 Udoh 0Bradley 0

To me much of the series boils down to health. The first out with injury between Rubio and Paul will decide the series. 12 minutes from Korver could eliminate Neto and lighten Mitchell’s and Ribio’s load The more we see Mitchell at backup point the better our chances. O’Neil and Korver or even Allen forcing PT is huge.

royce doesn't get enough shot attempts because he doesn't or can't take them. unless he has an open lane for a dunk/layup or a completely wide open 3, he won't shoot. he's also not really good at creating any offense. he's your basic 3+D guy. grayson can generate his own offense + draw fouls, but I'd be worried about his defense in this series despite his improvement on that end of the ball. royce can also guard more positions than grayson, but he has to be willing to take some contested shots.
