I say we keep Burke, if only because he's been very professional especially when he got demoted to 6th man and for the mental fortitude it takes to handle said demotion without becoming a total pain in the @$$. Hopefully, he turns a corner, really really rooting for him here. Besides, the Jazz could benefit being known as a franchise that develops its players really well and doesn't give up on them so easily.

I don't think it's "giving up on him" if he's included in a package for a player who is an upgrade somewhereon the roster. The Jazz can (and should) try to upgrade their players when possible. Unfortunately, that sometimes means moving a player as an asset. I think that Burke has value, and so the Jazz can get a player who fits better by including him in a package at the trade deadline. Especially if he plays well to start the season.

BTW you can say *** on here. You can even say *******.

Agree. He obviously had little trade value at draft time. Only hope is that he plays well during the first part of the season and another team has injury problems.
What makes you say he had little trade value? Did you see what teams were asking to move out of their spots. The price of moving up in the draft this year was tremendous, So he may have had quite a bit of trade value, just not enough to move down for.

I think we should trade him for Lillard or LeBron.

Adding Lillard to our current group would make us instant contenders. 60 wins would be within reach.

We know precisely what trade value TB had on draft day --- he was traded on draft day for two firsts. If you are using the 2015 draft to gauge TB's draft day trade value, very weak analogy.

In 2013 it took two picks to move up to #9
In 2015 six picks (four firsts?) were refused for #10

We are trying to determine what Trey's trade value is right now. It was my point that he had no idea what his value is because he was not traded on draft day. All we know is that his value was not enough to move up. Which like you pointed out was a super high price. So Trey could have tons of value (I doubt it) but not enough for a draft day trade.

Burke's salary is so low that these trade Burke threads are kinda embarrassing. Why not root for the guy instead?

We can't do both? I want him to succeed if he stays but because I don't think he beats out Exum I also think it may be a good idea to trade him.
