Why not go after Marcus Thornton he is instant offense and may be attainable and not too expensive. He didn't get into the game last night till 5 minutes to go in the third quarter. He was the MVP in that game. I had him on my fantasy team last year he is an offensive machine. Last year as a rookie he got good minutes and shot 45% and mid to upper 30's% from three. Becaues of trades and whatever he doesn't get much playing time. What do you think.

Thorton more unreliable than miles. if we add a wing it should be a true upgrade.

What are you basing this on? Last year I kept track of him because he was on my fantasy team he was in my lineup every game he played and was reliable. This year he doesn't have a chance to be reliable because of lack of play time he can slash create for others and take a lot of pressure off D-Will. I would compare his roll on the team to Horny's roll when he played hear just not as good a shooter but better slasher he can and will score.

Why is he not getting playing time this year?

who do you trade for him? I doubt NO would just take an exception.

I don't know if they would go for it or not but, if it were me my first offer would be Bell. My thinking is Thornton only plays about 15 minutes a game many they want more def out of that spot in their rotation. If anyone has a better idea I'm all ears.

I think because after Paul got hurt and their depth was not as good last year as it is this year they picked up Ariza and Belinelli and Jack that doesn't leave much time for Thornton. That's my best guess

Ok. Stojakovic is about to be bought out. Sounds like Mavs in the lead and he is a major defensive liability, but wonder if Jazz FO would try to talk to his agent?

I have a possible solution at SG...stop me if you've heard this before...but why not some guy named Deron Williams?

Earl seems competent at running the offense, why not give him starter minutes (30ish) and have D-Will be your primary SG when Earl's on the court, and your primary PG when Earl's off the court. D-Will's assists maybe drop to 8.5 or 8.0 ish, but his scoring goes into Durant territory!

Earl also forces up-tempo, while Deron feels like he has to wait for everyone to catch up to him (lack of trust probably).

Also, if teams start picking up on this tactic and putting more guys on D-Will to stop him from coming off curls, etc. You KNOW D-Will can pass, so, then you tell him when he sees extra pressure to revert to his PG skillz and rack up 15 assists a game!

I know you guys have seen when D-Will is basically the SG in the offense and how that almost immediately leads to us coming back on teams or scoring on them at will...why is this not already being done or atleast tried for a game or two??

I would have the starting lineup looking like this:
PG- Earl
SG- Deron
SF- AK (because he's a headcase and would cry if he got benched)
PF- Millsap
C- Memo

6th man- Jefferson for Memo or Millsap (whoever is coldest)
7th- CJ/Bell (spark on O or spark on D)
8th- (depends on foul trouble / hot vs. cold / whatever the team needs, I'll leave this part up to the coaches.)

Whatta' think? yay? nay?

Nay. To short to defend taller wings and do you really think DWill would be to happy with this?

Deron has already stated very clearly that he hates playing the 2. That aside, I wouldn't worry too much about his defense. When he puts his heart into it he does better than average.

Ronnie Price or Fes for a conditional 2nd Round pick or cash. This is the only way the Jazz will get better.*

Well, Bell is only 2 inches taller and hasn't really been a "shut down defender" on opposing 2-guards. CJ isn't that great one-on-one against other 2's, neither is Hayward. Ronnie has played the 2 a lot when our "mighty mights" get out on the court and spark this team and they seem to do fine against other 2's on D.... I just don't see how our D would be any worse if Deron had to guard a taller 2-guard, we know Deron can man up on Kobe on D because he's been asked to do it before and if I recall, he did alright.

I know it's a lot to not think of D-Will as the PG, but I'm just throwing out ideas to spark the offense mainly and get off to better starts. there's nothing saying that if it's not working, you can't make adjustments and revert back to a D-Will, Bell, AK, Millsap, Jefferson lineup mid-game....

I was initially pleased with the Jazz signed Bell. When he's on, he can be a big contributor to this team. Problem is, he's off as much if not more than he's on. I've become very disillusioned with Bell and come to the conclusion it's time to replace in starting lineup. My feeling is that Bell is not a long-term solution, and we are not going far this year in the playoffs. The Jazz took Hayward with a lottery pick. He's played well at times, and at least shown flashes that he can be a solid player. Why not give him a shot. If we want to keep D-Will, we will have to convince him that there's a good core around him. Bell is NOT part of that core, Hayward might be. I'm on the fence about Hayward, but we need to know, and need to know reasonably soon, I think, whether Hayward has potential to form a long-term core of this team. I mean, I'm pretty sure Hayward if give minutes and integrated into the offense can get at least the 4-9 points Bell seems to get regularly. We probably lose some on defense, but Hayward can create better than Bell, can rebound better than Bell, and looks to be a pretty decent passer. Frankly, moreover, defense is not our problem now. Consistent offensive flow and rebounds are our problems. Can Hayward really be THAT much worse or inconsistent the Bell at this point?

That's retarded that wouldn't fly with Deron he would pull a Carmello for sure! We want to do everything we can to keep him not lose him!!!! Think next time
