Pre-season Game 1: Utah Jazz vs. GS Warriors, Mon Oct. 8th 830 MT

I just realized that we got rid of a lot trash this past offseason. It finally sunk in.

No more Miles?!? No Bell?!?! No Howard!!?@ No Harris!!!!

and we are flying under the radar. Couldn't ask for a better set up.
 
I hope we can guard the perimeter better this year. The Tankers will be a good test.

My current thinking is that our perimeter defense has certainly improved. We added Marvin Williams and Foye. Most articles I have read mentions that they are above average - good perimeter defenders. Combine that with still having Hayward and I'd say they have certainly improved.

Plus those very players stretch the floor for one of the best front courts in the NBA. Utah addressed some of their biggest problems this offseason. I think we will see a much improved Utah team.

The Jazz are not "elite" yet but they damn sure made big strides that direction.
 
Is this 8:30 MT AM, or PM? I mean obviously its PM, but I wish it was starting in ten minutes :(
 
PS: DAMN. Klay Thompson has got to have one of the prettiest strokes of any young guy in the league right now. Smooth like amish butter.

Regarding the Warriors I really don't know any Warrior fans or go to their forums. I was something of a Kings fan but with all the crap the MaGoofs pull I couldn't bear it anymore.

Sounds like my 5 year old. Sweet as can be till you mess with her family. Then she goes ape ****.

Some kids were being unkind to her older sister (10) and my 5 year old berated them right there on the jungle gym for all to see and hear. Loved it.
 
Absolute "MUST WIN!" This game sets the tone for the rest of the season.

Jazz lose and those young, fragile psyches will be flooded by memories of the playoff debacle. Guys will think that no matter how hard they work, they just can't compete in this league.
On the other hand, it IS the W's. Golden State needs to have some early confidence. Let them think the playoffs are a distinct possibility so it's too late this time when they start tanking again.
