To be fair most are, especially when you have an owner who really wants to win and be involved.

If Donny is smart he will angle to get out now. If he does the typical star thing of signing the extension and asking out later his value will be too high and it will gut or limit the acquirers. Donny on a one year deal is something Miami and LA can afford… Donny on an extension has way more bidders.
 
Donovan has a lot in common with Kevin Durant. He puts up godly stats and will still need to join a super team to get a ring because he cannot be the #1 that leads a team to the title. Both need to be coattail riders to get their ring.

I think that Durant actually had/has the ability to lead a team to a title. It's just really hard to win a title.

Fully agree he's better than Donovan. But I disagree he has the ability to lead a team to a ring. That takes the intangibles to be a leader and a dominator and I don't think he has that. For all his ability on the court he doesn't have the gravitas and leadership off the court to inspire his team to greater heights.

We actually saw this during their playoff run this year. He always seems aloof and disconnected to me. You rarely see him gather the team around on the court to talk through what the expectations are or how to get past a certain obstacle. He just doesn't have that as a leader. Neither does Donovan.

He can't see this for what it is, but this will keep him from getting another ring until he can find another Curry to get behind.

Or Gordon Hayward where he leads everyone on and then bails out after they make plans around him... that's what I am rooting for.
