If you're as thirsty for basketball as I am here's a chance to watch Thabo play.
It's on ESPN2 I think (I'm gonna find a stream).

One quarter was plenty enough for me. It's very obviously an exhibition game (I've seen more defense in all-star games).

I would like to acknowledge the poor taste of this ill-conceived post. I do not endorse this type of thinking. Although it did exist among my family members, I have never thought this way. I was trying to make a funny. I did not realize that it would be so counter-productive to a discussion of the NBAs outreach to Africa. And since everyone has seen it, deleting or altering it would only serve to cripple the discussion further. So let's discuss how the NBA has forced many of our older relatives to reconsider their positions on race in a way that few other things could.

If you asked my grandma before she died, every game was a NBA Africa game.

Really - this is the only place where any comment like that would be made? You either don't get out much or you have been spending too much of your income on Colorado weed.

There are very few posters on this site who are racist.

Let's knock it off with the false outrage, mmmkay? I'm sure Magic Spray's grandma probably did say that, but I believe Magic's post was more of an attempt at a comedic anecdote than it was an endorsement. A joke made in poor taste? Certainly. Anything more malicious than that? Not likely.

i dont know if this is good or bad but I took the statement to mean that all nba games are played with no defense

Or grammar. You choose, buttholes.

I thought it came across the way you meant it. A joke about racist old people.

No need to worry about it. Most of us have/had grandparents that were a bit racist.

The important thing is that we appreciate the diversity we have today. Many people like myself grew up with no notion that a person's race meant anything at all. We should focus on the progress we've made not the mistakes of the past

I still have to tell my dad that he can't say wetbacks. And he really, truly isn't prejudiced against people of other color/race either.
