Quarantined But Still Working

There are some medical professionals making this very argument. They feel history has proven that at this point in the spread of the virus the ship has pretty much sailed. Past attempts at containing diseases (e.g. small pox, scarlet fever, chicken pox) have failed and this attempt will as well.

The medical industry and medical supply industry and the army core of engineers should be given a blank check from the government and 30-45 days to gear up - commandeer hotels and turn them into hospitals, mass produce equipment - whatever can be achieved And then just end the quarantine and let the virus run its course.

The only other viable option is to put the country on total lockdown until a vaccine can be mass produced and turn the country into a socialist state in the meantime. Most estimates put that at about a year at best.

There are likely some empty underperforming office buildings or hotels in every city. We will eventually move away from quarantine status into treatment status... a vaccine could be 18 months away and I probably wouldn’t be first in line... there are also enough anti-vaxers out in NorCal that it’ll still wouldn’t get full traction.

Next 14-21 days are going to be interesting to watch.
