Quin Snyder is the new coach

I can see that Trey Burke likes peaches, but does he like the new coach hire?

Any comments from jazz players yet?

Greg Miller: "On behalf of the Miller family, I welcome Quin Snyder as the new head coach of the Utah Jazz. He has an impressive basketball pedigree, including more than a decade of head coaching experience that positions him well to succeed in the Jazz organization. We look forward to Quin’s contributions both on the court and in the community."

Randy Rigby: "We were very disciplined and thorough in our process, which has resulted in hiring Quin to lead this team into a new era for Jazz basketball. He has been affiliated with tremendous coaches and programs throughout his career from Duke University to the Atlanta Hawks. We have received overwhelmingly positive feedback regarding Quin from some of the most respected basketball minds in the game."

DL: "Quin Snyder combines a unique skillset with several intangibles that makes him the right fit for our team and approach to basketball. He is passionate about the game and has a 20-year track record of teaching and developing young talent. His personality, work ethic and communications skills are important traits that will benefit the Utah Jazz. We have taken a significant and exciting step forward in the evolution of this franchise."

Coach Snyder: "The opportunity to join the Utah Jazz and to be part of such a highly respected franchise with an incredibly bright future is a great honor. I approach this opportunity with gratitude and humility and am committed to doing everything I can to help the Jazz become a championship-caliber team."

Jody Genessy of Deseret News reported that both Brad Jones and Alex Jensen would be taking over increased roles on the sideline:

Snyder as Head Coach has pretty much been finalized at this point.

Alex Jensen and Brad Jones are both former D-League coaches with developmental responsibilities and backgrounds.

If they can lock down Messina as the head assistant and then get a solid defensive coach, I might have to be happy with how things played out.

Messina is still the key for me.

He wasn't my first choice, but he doesn't bother me at all. People rave about his basketball intellect. Hopefully his player management is just as good.

I'm on this boat as well. Dunno much about the guy, don't love it, don't hate it.

DL hinted at going 'young' with the coach - someone the players can 'grow with' (ala Scotty Brooks).

This is the strongest indication yet that we're in for a pretty long 'rebuilding' process.
