What's new

Quin Snyder is the new coach

How should I feel about this bros?

Why is my overriding thought of Snyder that he was fired from Mizzou for being a sleaze ball?

£¥£

The Jazz need more sleaze in their organization. Perfect hire for that.

Snyder may be a great pick for HC, but I'm bummed that the other 3 finalist were so pedestrian.

You bring up a good point. I like Griffin but he doesn't have enough experience. I hope Griffin gets a head coaching gig in a few years - I think he would do well coaching a team that has talent but has under-performed (such as the Pistons).

Ok, I over being bummed: Quinn may not be Messina, but my hope for Messina was just infatuation. Let's hear it for the Mighty Quinn!

I'm just happy that he has a solid identity..........

something that was sorely lacking during the dark ages (Corbin era) of Jazz history.

I posted this because Quin gets a head full of popcorn - and we see Dee Brown ball as well!

Gonna be nice not to hear "continue to work hard an get better" every other sentence.

Hotnick yesterday:

If the Jazz Org. wants feedback then let them have it. But to me the coaching search thus far has been very very disappointing. DL said on an interview once "We are in no hurry because we are comfortable of the availability of coaching talent".

Like **** you are if you're looking at the likes of Gentry, Snyder and Griffin. Cos none else wants to touch these guys!!!!

Hotnick today:

Reading more and more into this I'm pretty happy now with the Snyder hire over Messina for several reasons:

1. Snyder has had an extensive experience in the NBA with various teams dealing with various NBA personnel. Messina has close to none.

2. Snyder had worked extensively with the Spurs offense with the Austin Toros and having spent the last year with Budenholzer trying to implement it on a team of new players. As opposed to Messina's, the Spurs system is a proven system that seems to have worked well with the Hawks this year with limited talent.

3. Snyder is younger and I think can relate much better to our extremely young team (as opposed to Messina who is older and is used to coaching more mature players)

LOL.

His resume is excellent from an assistant coach point of view. The guy has experience. But from a head coach POV - we shall see. He's coached for some great teams in college, the NBA and abroad.

It will be interesting to see who the assistants are. I hope to see someone who is a defensive specialist.
