There is a 7 footer from Eastern Europe who went undrafted. His team played Kansas and he outpointed Cole Aldrich in statiscs in that game. He's going to Boston's summer league but it seems like KOC could come out a winner and offer the guy a guaranteed contract. Or KOC could have used the second round draft pick. The guy also put good numbers up against Duke.

I'm one of the worst posters on this board and I'd even do enough research to know and post the guy's name. C'mon homey, you're better than that.

His averages in the 5 games he played against tourney teams aren't too much below his year's overall. That's definitely a guy you would hope to get on your summer league team and watch over a series of practices/games.

Help us lazy people out and look up his name.

+1 to KEK

But he hasn't decided who he is playing for in Vegas yet. And unless Boston offers him a contract he is still available.

I was hoping if we ended up trading down he'd be on our radar screen. Interesting he didn't get drafted at all. I saw somewhere despite his bulk, his body fat index was something insane like 6%.

Not a snowballs chance in Mexicalifornia the Jazz sign a rookie center. If Okur doesn't look like he'll be ready to go for training camp, the Jazz will pick up a veteran.

Furious the Jazz didn't draft him with #55. Or Jerome Randle. Or Charles Garcia. Or Sylven Landesberg. Or Jeremy Lin. Or Omar Samhan, Brian Zoubek, or freaking Stanley Robinson (not a huge fan, but what does this Evans kid bring that Stanley Robinson doesn't?).

Jeremy Evans would've wet himself had KOC just called him after the draft inviting him to summer league. I have no. ****ing. idea. why the Jazz burned a pick on that kid.

Tangent: It became clear to me why the Jazz drafted little Gordy;

Horrible, horrible draft. Hell, if they would've traded down to 12 and 25 (or even 28) to pick Hayward up still (and he would've been there), I wouldn't be as pissed. I can't say with certainty that this is worse than 2004, but it looks like it might be. I guarantee you one of the players the Jazz passed on is going to make us look retarded for picking Gaywad.

Here are Omar's numbers from his last five games: 16 13, 9 7, 29 12, 32 7 and 15 9. The Radford dude: 11 18, 24 13, 24 15, 25 14, and 16 9. Oh year vs. Duke 23 14 and vs. Kansas and Cole 21 13. I'm royally pissed too.

Rumor was that Indiana wanted Gordie at #10. Maybe they faked out KOC, maybe not.
I'm not thrilled, but I understand the pick. I didn't see the workouts or study film. My draft board for the Jazz was Cousins, Udoh, Monroe and Davis. I was a bit torn on Aldrich. I didn't have him ranked in the top-10, but he certainly would have filled an immediate need with Okur's status uncertain.

In the end, this sets the 2-3 position for the next few years. It also allows the Jazz to get pretty close to the luxury tax threshold by not re-signing Boozer AND Korver - regardless of what happens to AK. Unfortunately, it does nothing to address our lack of size and defense at the 5/4.

Last season, the Jazz had to dump Harp's contract. This year, they can actually take back up to $17M in salaries for AK (assuming Boozer and Korver are not re-signed). Let's see what happens.

Doesn't the league pay a percentage (like 50%) of vetran minimum salaraies as an incentive to keep players around? If so the jazz will be all over that.

The 2-3 position? Hayward is too slow to guard 3s, let alone 2s. If the Jazz are indeed "set" at the wing by a guy that can't guard anyone and playing 30+ MPG, the Jazz are screwed.

And for those that forgot, when wet, our SF of the future is Deron's weight, has has arms shorter than his height (in shoes), measured out poorly in standing reach (22nd of 30 SFs) and tested out absolutely terribly in lateral footspeed (2nd slowest SF measured, 13th slowest of 45 at the entire combine [followed almost exclusively by guys that can or will play C]). Him being white, having rosacea, and looking more feminine than his mother are just the icing on this ****-cake. And the Jazz used a TOP TEN PICK on this. The Jazz would've been handed a blessing if the only team in the NBA whiter than the Jazz would've been so stupid.

I'm going to go kill myself.

Why wait for training camp? They'll be lucky to have him back by the all-star break!
