I for one can't believe this, and feel completely betrayed by the Ron Paul camp!

Yup. Don't feel betrayed. Be thankful that the Paul's (in this case Rand) is doing what Reagan would have done. Work together to actually accomplish something.

meh.

I think the folks that are gonna vote for his dad are already set and will vote for him no matter what. The folks that aren't gonna vote for Obama will simply not vote or will vote for Romney. I doubt this endorsement changes anything.

It is a nice finger to his dad though. I'd never endorse another candidate over my dad. That's just creepy. Goodluck at the next family Thanksgiving/Christmas...

Papa Paul wasn't exactly distancing himself from Romney, considering he pretty much folded his campaign without even trying to make a dent in some of the more hotly contested primaries. And Rand's endorsement was obviously not spur of the moment or anything so if his dad and him have any sort of relationship, they've talked about this exact thing many times.

I personally never thought Rand was the great Paul legacy torch bearer so I don't really think anything of it other than it appears to be just Rand playing politics and positioning himself for the future. He still has good views on many issues. It does make for an interesting void of leadership in that whole constitution/quasi-libertarian movement though. Injecting ideas and all that is great, but you still need somebody that is immovable and that can articulate that message and make people think and bring it into the mainstream to be successful . Leadership vacuum + the too far gone clock ticking down ever so faster = ?

He wants a VP spot.

That may be, but it's about as likely to happen as when Ron's camp was asking everyone else in the primary to bow out so everybody could gather around him. Probably not worth risking your "base" - whatever that can be defined as. Who is Rand Paul to a national audience? I'm not sure the VP choice really adds to or negates anyone's campaign anyhow, but it just doesn't make sense from Romney's perspective.

I'm not sure what you all thought Rand was going to do. He's got his own career to think about and let's face it, whether Ron is his dad or not, endorsing him is politically dangerous. Regardless of what Rand stands for, he needs to distance himself from his dad just a bit.

So now I'm a "twink" (whatever that is) because I watch quality daytime drama's? You're so obtuse.

Not may fault you're so accute. I do not recommend looking at "twinks" online. Guy on guy stuff mi amigo.

Well, I like to give credit where credit is due. . . . and Ron Paul and his son Rand have been the most palpable presences of hope in our entire national government. For thirty years I guess.

None other than Newt brought the Paul/Romney alliance to light. . . for me. . . . and now even Newt is on board with the Dump Obama Agenda. Which is of course DOA because it will change nothing.
