The overwhelming consensus is that Corbin has coached one good game so far this season. How many good games do you think he will coach for the year? Maybe I'll update this post as the season progresses.

OKC -good loss

Hmm good question and entirely perspective driven. I think he will start fairly slow and pick up as the season prgresses. Along with the team itself.

He'll be around all year. We are too stubborn of an organization to admit when we made a mistake. We'd rather hide our mistakes, even if it means sacrificing the development of our team.

I'm not going to go down this road other than to say it's readily obvious The Jazz players are playing hard for him. That means something even to a Corbin hater like me.

Given the players Corbin has available right now I think he has made most of the right moves. It isn't Corbin's fault that Gobert played awful last night. And he didn't really have another option.

What team isn't playing hard at this point?

Playing hard when you're stoked that the season has finally started doesn't prove anything. Even Big Al and Boozer played hard at the beginning. Even the Wizards, Pelicans, and Kings are playing hard right now.

Playing hard when it's December, Jan, or Feb when you're on an east coast road trip or down in New Orleans is where Corbin is truly going to be tested.

I didn't actually see the game last night, other than a few highlights. I made my assessment based on some comments I read on this site, but it sounds like I may have been wrong. Is the consensus that he coached a good game?

His rotations? Are ok. Still think JL3 and Tinsley are playing too much

But "coaching" is more than rotations.

Our offense is a complete mess. It literally looks like the Kings or Wizards. All 1 on 1 play. The thing that's keeping us afloat is that Burks is a tremendous 1 on 1 player and Kanter has bruised people inside. Take Burks out and I'm not sure this team ever scores.

This offense is good enough to win 10-15 games. With sloan's offense? Easily double that. So I'm hoping that after this tank job we go after Lionel Hollins or pick off some Spurs coach.

Its a really minor thing but also pretty obvious..... favors should do the jump to start the game, not kanter.

Maybe corbin is using football strategy and deffering the first possession until the second half.

Oh and I would also like to see burks playing about the same minutes as hayward, favors, and kanter each night.
The first game he was right there with the core, but last night he played much less than the others.

So far my hate level for corbin is pretty low though so he must be doing ok..... until everyone gets healthy and he screws burks like usual

Yeah, as frustrated as I've been by Corbin's in-game decisions in past years, the real problem has been his lack of an overall plan. I was hopeful when he was hired but since that time I can't think a fo a single instance where I thought, "I'm glad this guy is our coach." My guess is that letting him finish out his contract is simply part of Lindsay's plan.

I wonder if Hayward's unwillingness to sign had anything to do with his opinion of his coach.

Nice outdated Carolinajazzer 1950's mentality.

I thought the Jazz' offense has been okay, and that Corbin is doing a decent job so far. I don't have any complaints, but I do hope he continues to improve if he's the coach in the long run.

By "improve" what specifically are you hoping he gets better at?

I think that's code for "play the guys I like more minutes."

Considering I haven't made a single complaint about minutes this season (or anything else, really), I wish I could slap your stupid face for that condescending comment.

He seems to be a lot better playing the hot hand. He appears to be better at rewarding good performances. His offensive sets are more fluid and dynamic than the ****fest that was Jefferson-ball. He's using time-outs better. He has just improved in many ways over the past 3 seasons, and I hope he continues to improve.
