He seems to be a lot better playing the hot hand. He appears to be better at rewarding good performances. His offensive sets are more fluid and dynamic than the ****fest that was Jefferson-ball. He's using time-outs better. He has just improved in many ways over the past 3 seasons, and I hope he continues to improve.

That doesn't show improvement but a change in strategy (which i thought we all expected), especially the offensive changes -- alfense was the most efficient option for the Jazz last season and going to more movement would have been the opposite of coaching improvement.

Nice outdated Carolinajazzer 1950's mentality.

Actually I agree with Thriller(holy crap did I just say that). I think sloans system, or something akin to it, would be a good fit for this team and be great for the development of our bigs.

Well he's a beautiful shade of black, I'll give him that. X's and O's-wise he's kind of a mess but now that we're past the Big Al era that might change.

I give him 40/100.

STFU. Sloan's system changed from year to year based on talent and so does Corbin's. Corbin's running the same **** Sloan ran and that every other team runs today.

Did no one pay attention to the excellent game plan Corbin put together for the first half of last night's game? Yeah, he don't know **** other than handing James Harden and Dwight Howard their asses on a silver platter. Everything was going kick *** until the starters all grew vaginas and quit running offense.

LONG LIVE KING CORBIN THE MASTER GAME PLANNER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You stfu!!!

Of course coaches adjust to their players but the still have guiding principles and a general system. I think the biggest difference is that corbin has been moving the ball a lot(which I think is leading to turnovers) where as sloan focused more on off the ball movement.

I'll give you an example of something I think we would have seen under sloan that we haven't seen from corbin. Then you can tell me I'm stupid and how big corbins dick is.

Kanter gets the ball in the post. Hayward(Weakside) , Jefferson (strong side), and Burks(split) are outside the arc. Favors is at the top of the key. Favors cuts towards the basket(either gets the assist from kanter or clears weakside low). Burks follows favors down the paint(either gets the assist or clears baseline passing right off of favors hip ). Hayward moves from weak side to split still outside the arc. If kanter still has the ball and no shot he passes to hayward.

Note: burks is wide open @ this point Favors is in good position for the board hayward probably has a shot(although it is right to left jeffersons guy may be cheating so he may very well be open. and the paint is clear.

Corbin's done a good job. There were obviously going to be growing pains and some lag with the offense, but it's fair to have had an expectation that the defense should improve and god damn has it improved.

I am still not a believer that he's a championship coach but I don't have much - if anything - bad to say about him so far this year.

Corbin has been doing about as good of a job as possible, I'd say. If you take into account that he's got 10 players, no NBA-starting-caliber point guard, no bench, players who are apparently skipping free throw practice, and a bunch of kids still figuring out that you don't play bench-like minutes of effort when you're a starter, I'd say he's done what he can. His substitutions typically make sense to me, even when whoever gets subbed in doesn't do what they're supposed to do. He's been patient with his starters, even when they completely disappear after halftime. And he's been calling for a healthy variety of plays. Kudos to him. I want to see what happens when Burke gets healthy (though I'm not expecting drastically different results). Probably be a long road trip, but good luck Coach Corbin!

Last night Houston was getting its *** kicked. McHale went into halftime and adjusted his team's defense and attitude. So what exactly did Coach Corbin do?

"hey guys, good playing. I've arranged for some drinks on a game well played. "

15 minutes later

"Hey Sydney, you need a ride home? What? It was only half time?"

He implemented a very effective defensive system. He's changed the offense to better suit the personnel (that is also generally more effective). I don't know that he's a X's and O's master but he looks less flustered. Maybe not having to cave to your veterans with better players than them on the bench really does just go that far, but what do I know.

Reppable.

Corbin has been running a ton more "stuff" this year (to use a pitching term where slower throwers rely on technique since they can't overpower). What I am seeing so far is the starters giving up on offense because they are getting scared, so the system reverts to a **** ton of high pnr. If Corbin can do anything it would be to tell these kids to take their shots.

OKC is a good team, but not as good as they get credit for. They have no bench. Their only great player was Durrant. They will be a lot better with Westbrook, but that is because he is a pimp. That wasn't a good coaching performance. That was a team we match up well against. If not for the freaking refs giving Durant 100 FT's we win that game hands down. And we suck.
