Ready for the $9 Big Mac, for real?

Since you continue to misunderstand, I'll quote it for you here so you can get the calculation straight
.

I am not misunderstanding. You start with gross income. Take the 20% and standard deduction and divide by two. Take the rent amount, including utilities and subtract from have of the calculated income. The sum is deducted from your gross income. This is the number you use to calculate the food stamp amount. Using gross income on the bottom chart is wrong. Gross income is only an option used to determine eligibility, not to calculate the amount of SNAP benefits. So you are the only one misunderstanding.

The example that breaks it down is so similarto your Wal Mart wage employee it surprises me it is so confusing to you.

OB does a lot of this too, like his comments on Section 8 that simply made no sense. When I pointed out he was wrong, he dug even deeper. Over and over again, and none of it made sense. You are doing the same thing regarding food stamp calculation. Instead of having a knee jerk reaction, please read through the entire link you quoted above. Qualifying for food stamps can be based on gross or net income, but the amount received is based on net income, which may include a deduction for rent/housing (which, depending on income level, may have a further reduction due to your housing costs if housing is greater than 50% of your net income). I can see why you are defending him. You are two peas in a dysfunctional pod.

From your above link:

Benefit Computation
Example
Multiply net income by 30%... (Round up)
Subtract 30% of net income from the maximum allotment for the household size...
$1,139 net monthly income x .3 = $341.70 (round up to $342)
$632 maximum allotment for 4 - $342 (30% of net income) = $290, SNAP Allotment for a full month

What part of this does not make sense to you?

Let me restate what I meant: you were arguing just to argue; OB attempted to reason and asked questions so you could clarify and convince him that you are right.

He did not ask for clarification. He jumped on the numbers I didn't provide calculations for and used that as a knee-jerk reaction to deflect away from the fact his comments were incorrect (like Medicaid being increased by the ACA so raising minimum wage to $15 would have to effect when clearly he was wrong based on every Medicaid eligibility chart). He obviously cannot be wrong.

Junior. You think it's a surprise that you were trolling? Guess what, we're bored with time to kill too. Not only do we not care, it fills our day up seeing how far you will go for attention. Keep it up please, it's a good act. But lose the icu excuses.

I think if you look at the history of my posts you find I don't get into these debates, because it is a waste of time (which was exactly why I got involved in this one. I had time to kill, and spent a ton of time on here over the past week). It is definitely not my norm as a quick search for my username will show. I only troll back to other trolls like huge man boobs. People that further discussions and give a good back and forth get the same treatment in return.

You can't buy a $9 Big Mac with food stamps. You need cash assistance to purchase fast food.

Computation

A balloon of heroin costs (x) dollars
A big Mac weighs (y) pounds
A bum smells (z) smelly
and he must wait (n) days for his asistance

ergo xz-yn=tl;dr

boom

Glad to know that you agree you used it as an insult. As close to an apology as he will get.

Sorry to see that you can't figure out the difference between "used to shame" and "used as an insult". Not surprised, but sorry. No, I'm not going to apologize for throwing his religion back at him after he threw it at me.

When was the last time I mentioned your religion in a discussion not specifically about religion? If the issue is me, then why would I treat you differently than JAZZGASM?

Ummm, $9 Big Mac sounds delicious! Do you think it will have tomatoes on it?

No. The recipe is good, the recipe is sound, trust the recipe!!

Well if I'm gonna pay $9 for a big mac I want more than just a regular old big mac.

Can I have 3 patties and 4 buns?

I was an early adopter on JF for years(opened a new account/username after the server crash), and have seen your crap all over this site. I have seen many people get pulled into your debates, which like here, often deflect rather than make salient points that add to a discussion. To date, I have avoided getting involved with your crap, but I let myself get pulled into this thread (Largely to discuss issues with Franklin. And while I disagree with some of his views, I respect his views, and can have a reasonable discussion with him). Somehow I got pulled into your crap, and I should have realized early one that your deflection tactics would never let this discussion move forward.

I've been on JazzFanz for over a decade, and I've seen you around from time to time.

I don't feel the need to restrict the conversation into avenues other people find comfortable. What you call diversions, I call uncomfortable consequences. I try to move the conversation in the direction I consider forward, whether others like it or not.

It is sad that you use Jazzfanz as a conduit to try to display your intellect

People reveal the most about themselves when they talk about other people's intentions. For example, this is the third or fourth post you've been talking about how I want to show I'm smart. I don't worry about how smart I am. That you infer this motive is a sign that seeming smart is a concern for you.

Here's one point to consider on this topic: my only line of argument regarding your hypothetical has been that percentage of the of the poverty threshold where earning an extra dollar means you lose more than a dollar in benefits (no negative incentive), because if there were, it would be a political talking point. All the rest of our discussion was around the numbers you produced, and how reliable they weren't. It doesn't take much faith in one's own intelligence or specific knowledge to make the point I made; it takes a lot more to keep trying to throw out numbers the way you did. It doesn't take much faith in one's own intelligence or specific knowledge to note that the numbers are unreliable for various reasons; it takes a lot more to insist on the veracity of the numbers the way you did.

(I think you really just annoy most people). Most posters on this board live and learn. Having seen your drivel time and time again, I see that you just live.

This is another great example. I've even posted in this thread about various posters I've learned from (and a couple of pages back mentioned this about you), and how important that is to me; you infer a refusal to learn anything. Again this would be coming from who you are, not from who I am.

... if you continue on like this, you will likely be speaking to yourself in the not too distant future.

That's the potato.

Not long ago I got a bizarre Big Mac. It had 4 buns and about a pound of pickle slices and a good full cup of sauce and nothing else, no all-beef patties, lettuce, cheese or onions.

No all-beef patties, a cup of sauce, a pound of pickles, and nothing else on a double sesame seed bun!

negged for going full retard.

I hardly ever get a burger from a national chain anymore. They taste like crap. The only one I eat lately (and not that often either) is the baconater from Wendy's. I always end up with a chicken club or something similar.

I think Stoked is still upset that he gave a ****ty hypothetical, you asked for clarification, and he was too lazy to provide it and got ornery with you for asking instead.

Lol, not upset at all. To me OneBrow used his religion as an insult.

He claims a difference and I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. I have seen Jazzgasm use various insults as well. But OneBrow did hit him on religion. But at the time I took it as One Brow using it as an insult.

If I missed some replies of his, or anyone elses, my bad. Have not really been following this thread to much once Jazzgasm and Brow went way over my head.
